i can not believe people still say hackham have improved! this is getting ridiculous! they still havent looked like winning a quarter let alone game. and get pumped by 40 plus goals reguarly. get real people...

and on the edwardstown shorts issue. they are allowed to wear the SAAFL shorts until the end of this yr... not that it should be a massive issue, they are still white and blue. but for those concerned, that should be the end of it.

What clubs folded pre 2002?
Correct me if I am wrong, but O'sullivans Beach were forced to merge with Mawson after they were kicked of the oval.
You can't fault the country clubs for leaving the SFL, they don't have the resources, population, and coin to compete in a metro comp. It was bound to happen whether we had one, two, or ten divisions.

Okay, I'll correct you :-)

Lonsdale and O'Sullivan Beach merged and used both ovals for a couple of years, until the soccer management made it too difficult to continue using O'Sullivan Beach complex.

O'sullivan Beach and Lonsdale chose to merge to be competitive in the new 1 division. A vote was held by the members of each club. As far as i know only 1 person from sullies voted against the merger and he has put that behind him and now is a passionate supporter of the lonsdale lions.

It's happened at last. The "Big Seven" (regular Big Six plus Edwardstown) are now holding the top seven spots.
Some tough draws coming up (especially for the Valley) but right now its the same old, same old.

Since the merger have Lonsdale ever been a serious contender, what is there highest finish?

7th I think, last year they missed the finals for the first time in a few years. I doubt if either Sullies or Lonsdale Bears would have made finals alone, if still around.

i heard they did all get a goal in the end?

i also heard that someone from HFC (coach or president?) wasnt happy with the way morphies treated the hawks, in terms of trying to get every player a goal, saying it was very disrespectful and he let his thoughts be known?

Quite poor form of Morphies if true.

Well if the Sunday mail is correct then they all did kick a goal. Poor form you say? I'd say GREAT form from an outsider looking in, what would you have rathered, kick 60 goals like they did a few years back? Didn't Pollard kick something like 30 goals that day? How is that any different? Either feed 1 bloke all day or share it around? Only poor form is from the Hackham hierarchy if infact they did complain. He should be looking at the positives, by the sounds of it this Mosar can play and they kicked 3 goals. When was the last time they kept Morphies below 50 goals and kicked 3 themselves? Get over it Estebian!

i think the issue is with the "lack of respect" shown, as i can just imagine what it would have looked like from the sidelines. my guess it would have looked like they were just "toying" with them, handballing the ball around alot in their forward 50 to try find the player that was yet to convert.

It wasnt like the Emus were toying or playing keepaway with the footy, with the Harlem Globetrotters music playing in the background, but the contest was well and truly over so we just sent some defenders forward to have a crack! Nothing wrong with that surely. Obviously some defenders spent more time down there sniffing around for a goal than others...

Just wondering how many of those Hackham lads in the A grade are still eligable for U18s? Must be a very high number, the majority of them i would of thought.

So with 8 rounds to go we have the top sides starting to play each other again and the 6/7/8 spot are up for grabs!

Noarlunga V M/Parks. The lads have looked forward to this one after going down by 2 points at the land of giants and overhanging trees. I will stick my neck out and go with a 5 goal win in our back yard.

Aldinga V Marion. which Marion will turn up? Marion to win

Christies B V Lonsdale. Lonsdale have played some good footy of late and would love to give Tyler a loss but I am tipping Christies in a good game.(is there anyone in the comp that gives more lip than Tyler?)

Cove V Pt Noarlunga. 6 V 5 and a cracker it should be as these sides fight to keep inside the 8 with some big games to come but Cove for me.

Hackham V Townies. Now this makes no sence as this is the 2nd time Townies have played Hackham??? Townies to win.

H/Valley V M/Vale. 7 v 2 and another big game with Valley desperate to stay in the 8 but the opportunity to grab top spot will see Morphies to strong.

Reynella V F/Hill. Reynella to win.

Brighton have the bye.

in that a grade team we have around 15 guys under the age of 21, and off the top of my head about 6or7 are still eligible for U18's.

McLaren Vale and McLaren Flat merged
O'Sullivan Beach/Lonsdale played half their home games at O'Sullivan Beach oval after the merger for a year or two, they were kicked off after the merger.

have you been in a hole the last couple of years VC. we were being PUMPED by 60 goals regularly and to turn that around to be only losing by 40 goals is a good thing going forward considering 15 of our A grade squad are under 21. we have won a couple of quarters this year and 1 of them being against OSB/Lons which we only lost by 9 goals.

And that loss was only due to having a really bad second quarter...the rest of the quarters were very close contests with us kicking 3 straight goals twice...

Some really interesting ins and changes for some clubs on the clearances before June 30!

See Reynella have aquired Matt Dickson (Victor, Flaggy, South) and also have J.Shuetz back from Mitcham (kicked 100 one year I think?)

Noarlunga definetly have Comer cleared, don't know if he played on the weekend?

Is it correct that Billings after 2 weeks has been cleared back to PHOS from M Park? Surely not ??? And did Michael Mahar only just get cleared back to valley from Mitchell Pk. I didnt know he left?

Morph Vale has applied for W.Pittman clearance, not sure if got it yet though.

Another interesting one, ppl always are outraged when others say a "better" club should recruit Mosar from the hawks, but looks like Christies have obtained there next most promising and talented player off them in Jordy Mack! ?????

And Cove has gone under the radar by picking up M. Potts from Happy Valley, who on his day can be a good A grade goalkicker.

Is this the Matt Dickson that has been living in Alaska for the last few years? Think he has been back recently to marry his Alaskan missus and was then flying back to Alaska, don't think you will see him playing for the wineflys this season.
