With Brighton already travelling along nicely, a welcome addition soon if all goes well would be the one and only Troy Butcher. Played his first game on the weekend (B Grade) Best on Ground and 4 goals....

Good luck keeping the handbag on the track, bet he's done a hammy by the time he needs to play Reynella in a few weeks. would have to be the most over rated player ever to play SFL.

The oval is about 2 weeks from being handed back over Top dressed today rolling it tommorrow and fertilizing it and a final inspection in the next two weeks Maybe last minor round or finals seem assured. Will be in terrific condition if all goes well.

Troy and his brother had to return to WA at short notice in April for family/personal reasons. Troy has been playing for his old local club (yes he was cleared) and returned to SA recently (cleared back on the significant change of location rule). He did play B grade on Saturday and was a class above in difficult windy conditions. The SFL probably hasn't seen the best of Troy but the facts are that he has played in 3 senior WAFL premierships with East Perth and represented the WAFL so his best was, or is, clearly very very good. Reynella people will at least concede that he was one of their best in the 2007 Prelim Final loss to Brighton and if he can replicate that form he could be a handy addition come finals if his body is right. He is not being treated as the great white hope because we have been winning games with at least 4 or 5 down from our best 21 most weeks, however just adds further depth to our Senior list come finals time. Unlike some clubs, the Bombers won't compromise selection on reputation alone.

That's good news, on my "site visits" stopped in and it does look like it will be coming along nicely and some Council workers seemed positive that it will be better than ever for the re dressing.

We copped our punishment after the regrettable incident a fortnight ago but its now happened again at their next home game involving the same player. Where's our friend with his moving Heavy Metal Avatar with his comment on this one.

Cyclops, if you saw a physically mature 16 year old kid bullying or belting a smaller 16 year old, wouldn't you step in to protect the smaller kid and probably give a clip to the other one in the process. I'm not saying this can be carried out on the sporting field but its not as simple as saying that an adult can't touch a kid. There are plenty of 14 to 17 year kids who deserve to cop the shoe on the other foot and receive the same treatment as to what they hand out to others.

I think that it is a disgrace that Hackham allow this lad to behave this way week in and week out. If Hackham are serious about rebuilding the club this needs to be stopped. The lad's coach should sort the problem, and not as I've been told, encourage the thuggery. I spoke to Denis Ker late last year or earlier this year and told him of this lad and his sniping. I tried to explain that as long as the club allows this sort of thing they would never gain respect as a club. The actions of someone like this means that he becomes the lowest common denominator on which everyone bases their opinion of the club. You will continue to be called ferals as long as you allow this behaviour. Come on Thommo and Kery tidy this up. If it means telling this lad to piss off, so be it. The club is greater than any individual. I also question the umpires who do nothing about it each week. Surely the SFL are aware of this by now as well. Perhaps "duty of care" should be mentioned. Why don't opposition teams start reporting this lad? The SFL's standing in the football community isn't that flash now. Fix it.

No they play Sunday because they cannot make the Saturday side, or are you stacking your Sunday side?

Totally wrong there LGIL, the Sunday sides (especially at Flagstaff Hill) are not looked at as a 'Second Side', they are there for everyone to get a game, so players that are unavailable on a Saturday can still play club football.

These players may be unavailable for many reasons which change each week, but the majority are college footballers, so changing finals to a Saturday is most definatly going to have an impact on the competition.

Without our two Sunday sides this year we would have easily 10-15 players that would not have played a game for FHFC all season, this way they still get to play for Flaggies (or what ever club they are at), and won't go running off to a SAAFL team who play there major junior comp on a Sunday. Flaggies personally have lost countless players since 2000 because we have not had Sunday sides, we now do and hopefully will stop loosing players to other clubs in the Junior ranks.
