The 14 game saw the Shoes go down in a cracker against Cove with both sides playing good footy but the big FF for Cove making the diffrence.

H/Valley 16 side over Reynella in a good contest and a good win for the young Valley lad after such a tragic week.

M/Vale 18 made to sweat with Reynella coming back in the 3rd and last.

Shoe's B grade played with pride against a very good M/Vale who where made to work for every kick. Dissapointing last quater where the Shoe where down by 2 with the wind at there back but to M/Vales credit they stood up and answered the challenge as good sides do.

Also like to thank Jack Smedley who coached his last game for the B grade and all that know Jack wish him all the best and again thank you :-*

The A grade game looked to be a fizzer with 7 goals to Cove before Reynella got on the board and 8/2 to 2/3 at half time it looked like game over. The second half was a cracker and when the siren sounded for full time we had 11/9 a piece, the Reynella boys had the momentum in the extra time and held on to win a cracker.

Well done to all at the Shoe over the last 2 weeks and all need congratulated for your efforts to make the day an enjoyable one for all that attended the Shoe. :ymapplause:

Next week all the Shoe get behind the 16 side at c/beach.

Yeah great effort by all down at Noarlunga....... The best place to play finals footy without a doubt!

All support staff and helpers should be congratulated for running such a smooth 2 weeks

By far You have THE BEST BBQ going round in the southern footy league! Great work!! :D :D

i 2nd this comment.noarluga f.c need to be congratulated on an absolutely sensational effort as hosts for the past 2 weeks.as sum1 has already stated why isnt 1 prelim at the shoe?last season the prelims were at porties and the shoe why not this season?one last thing is there any possible way the sfl can make available some kind of weekend pass for sale for those who are going to attend all the footy all weekend.you know wen ya go to the shoe sat arvo, valley sat night and aldinga on sun all the $ add up especially for those with young families,i spoke to one of the so called "bid knobs" from the sfl on sat and his exact comment was its just bad luck,as i pointed out too him he obviously does not have a misses and kids so he has no idea.

Happy Valley into a Prelim, they would be real happy with that considering the year that they have had.
Strange things happen in finals, Edwardstown found out the perils of an easy draw.

Yup, baled out of the SAAFL expecting instant glory and fell on their arse - beautiful..............

Who played well for the Valleys? Are they a genuine chance against Morphett Vale?

See the big fella from Reynella who copped a serve on the forum last week got best for Reynella.

Maybe he learned something from tagging a very good old ruckman. OR was it just the fact that Early wants one on one accountable Footy in every position

Good on you Jason

Gotta admit defeat on the Towns. To those who were claiming they wouldn't make it in the Finals, you were right and I was wrong.
I just thought they warranted respect for their draw against the Emus, flogging Cove, and beating Reynella. It was the Reynella win that convinced me they were certain Prelim Finalists and possible Grand Finalists.
Turns out they just weren't quite up to it.
Can't help pointing out one BTP prediction though ----- Valley to be the most likely side to "do a Port" and go further than expected in the Finals. :D
Just didn't expect at the time the side they'd be putting out in straight sets would be Edwardstown, but you can't win them all.

After the draw against Morphies erly in the year i stated E'towns game style wasnt suited to the tough 1 on 1 footy that is played during the finals - seemed to rely heavily on a possession based game plan that was always going to fall apart under finals type pressure or adverse conditions.

From memory and I stand to be corrected but I though I only saw the club advertise for positions from B-Grade down and not the A-grade. I don't see what is wrong with advertising and gathering interest, i believe they had trouble finding a B-grade coach last year.

Just realised, I'm wrong again
Edwardstown fifth, Cove sixth ----- Towns had to be higher. Both went out in Semis, Towns higher on ladder at end of minor round.

I think you'll find that young petoe is referring to the fact that they advertisement was asking for coaches for 'Season 2009', which unless they are changing coaches mid finals series, is a tad late

Well we are still in 2009 and the "pre-season" starts in November 2009, so I don't see anything wrong with it, maybe they will offer a 2 year deal, 2009-2010! ;)

He just said that we have dug ourselves a big ditch to get out of and to simply go out and play! We were probably trying too hard to contain their players rather than playing our own game, seemed to work!
