Some of the quallifying rules are wrong. If you play b &c grade on the same weekend why wouldn't it just be registerd as a game for the higher grade instead of both. Also correct me if im wrong dth but you had a b grader play every b grade game for the year but got dropped for the finals and played in the c grade final the next day ( which is fine because the b grade were in the finals) but because the b grade had a week off he then couldn't play in the c grade gf. So after playing all year (and if he can't get back into the b grade side) he may possibly miss out on playing in a b grade gf aswell. Surly the sfl can make an exemption in this sort of case. I wreckon if you were dropped the week before and your b grade is still in finals (even if they have the week off) the player in question must be allowed to play.
For me the weekends results will be
emus by 6 goal
brighton by 6 goal
and in the magoos
brighton and reynella and 18's
flaggies and brighton

i may hav mis-understood sumthn here in regards to the qualification rule,i thought any one could play any grade as long as all grades wer playing that weekend, whether yor qualified or not.for example a player plays b grade all year, gets dropped in the finals due to poor form, hasnt played enough games to qualify for c's finals, but he is allowed to play c's finals as long as there b grade are playing in the same weekend as wot the c grade final is being played.

This happens all the time in the clubs that are regularly at the top. It is a bit more common than you may realise, therefore to make an exemption for one you would be doing it for several. I agree it would suck to play 2's all year and when finals come the club is suddenly full strength and you miss out, but that is footy. I personally know of a few blokes this has happened to and it has just made them hungrier for success in the following years.

Emus by 8 goals (might be more if HV play anyone forward of centre)
Reyn by a goal

Just wanted clarification, I was under the impression that if you doubled up only the higher grade counted as a qualification game.

Correct Cyclops. Its always fun and games come finals working out who is eligible or not. We actually named a C grade team for week 1 of finals only to realise one of the blokes did not qualify so had to change it. I don't want to rub salt into the Emu wounds but Brighton's C grade Prelim Final team was 3 or 4 good players stronger in the Prelim because our B grade played the day before. We lost 4-5 players from our C grade Prelim side due to not qualifying outright and only gained 1 back from the B grade. Whereas the Emu's may have had some unlucky B graders play in the C grade GF even unqualified due to their B grade playing that weekend. I've looked at the rules closely for many years and don't think they can be improved from what they are. Its just awkward with how the C grade finals series works with the first week being played during B grade minor round and the GF being played when some B grade finals teams are playing and others have the week off due to winning straight through to the Prelim the week before.

Geoff Booth and Ben Trinne were gun players and both stopped playing too young. Boothy for work and travel and Trinne's body just gave up after playing A grade CHF from the age of 18. Plus he played just as hard off the field. Boothy is still the best centre half back I have seen in the SFL. Apologies to Mr Gaskin but Booth at his best was awesome to watch. He was also a gun forward in his early years but his kicking let him down. Trinne won 2 A grade B & F's in a strong side before he turned 21. Wasn't a tall CHF but strong body and hands. We sometimes threw him on the ball and he was a clearance machine. Both missed the 2002 flag Booth-travel and Trinne-injury which was a huge regret for the club as both helped us become an SFL force.

Mr Juicy do you think he was missed this year and what are the chances of him playing next year? Do you think he would still be an asset or just over the hill?

Kooka, we missed Banga like a second whole in the ass - NOT - just jokes pal. His leadership, voice & effort on the track would have been good to have this year that is for sure. As far as next year goes - I will say he should have another go I reckon - he is still capable of playing some good footy & adding to the player group - my feeling are you are along time retired so if you are still capable why the hell not keep having a crack as one day you will not be able to. Guess it depends also on what happens at Sth Adelaide but I would love to see him back in the green & gold

I think I may have been misunderstood. The exemption was for just that player I was talking in general. For example a rule could be that if a player is dropped from a higher grade the previous finals week and played c grade that week he shall be permitted to play the following week in a c grade grand final as long as the clubs b grade is still involved in finals. And if clubs try some funny stuff you just put in a clause that the player will then not be able to play the following week. Just an idea

I'm serious banger, the only thing that will prevent 25gls are the difficult conditions... So maybe 18-20 goals instead 28-9

jeez jane....... your keen. luv the confidence but there is no way that will be happening tomorrow.

regardless of the conditions i cant see happy valley playing a style of footy that will allow that sort of result!

here's a question for you..... do you think Mckenzie will line up at CHB, CHF or on the ball?
