It is time everyone stopped living in the past. The SFL are not going to change the location of the GF.
It has simply out grown Porties. Move on.

For those who asked: B grade Medal was won by Todd Alexander (Bombers) and Under 18 Jim McIntosh (Bombers). I know its all about winning the A grade flag but the Bombers jagged 5 out of 8 for the 2nd year in a row.

If they can fit more than 5,000 in at McLaren, they can easily fit that in at Porties! I don't think it has out grown Port Noarlunga at all.

Its easy to say they have nothing to do with the club but they obviously are associated one way or another. The unfortunate thing in life is people and organisations are judged by who they associate with. This incident certainly doesn't do Reynella's reputation any good. Its up to Reynella as a club to rid these people otherwise a lot of hard work can be easily undone in the blink of an eye.

It was people that don't attend a game all year, but just turn up on Grand Final day. You can't choose who shows up to support and who doesn't, every club has some peanuts that support them, but it's just normally Grand Final day that they come out the woodwork to support a team they would otherwise have no interest in. No members of the RFC were involved in the altercation.

I agree with your comments but don't you think Officials of the Reynella Football Club have an obligation to identify these problem people and ask them to leave. If the situation then esculates then call the Police. It becomes an image thing... if I had a young lad and was looking for a local club for him to play at I would definately steer clear of Reynella. It also doesn't look good when two males rob the Lonsdale Hotel wearing Reynella clothing either. Its a shame because it sounds like a lot of people have put in the hard yards only to be tarnished by a couple of incidents in less than 24 hours.

How fantastic is it to have a clubs supporters all congregated on the hill, rather than spread around the ground in cars, Atmosphere fantastic.

There was at least 3 separate altercations on the hill vics- that was from half time of the Bs to the end of the As.
As for effective security?? LOL the cops and Fluro boys did NOTHING with the fight on the hill near the end of the A grade until it had all but peetered out. At one stage the fight was more like a rolling maul striving for the try line....Luckily there was no cars to slow the security further!
I wouldnt say the atmosphere was fantastic, but that has more to do with the acoustics at SAFC, and the wind blowing across the ground, drowning the outer wing supporters. There has to be a happy medium with allowing some cars in to fill the barren Northern Hill behind the goals, still looked like a ghost town there!
As for the game- Morphies showed what a classy team they are, stepping up when the heat was on. Flies had early chances in the last quarter but couldnt get it done on the scoreboard.
Apart from Prescott I thought the emus smashed the flies through the centre, and the flies half backs (#23 in particular- I had a boot but cant recall the name) kept them in the game.
Bad luck to the Flaggy U/18s, outgunned on the day but the events through the week leading up to the game definitely didnt help. Heads up lads, you did the club proud.
And a great turn out by the flaggy red army!
