Having been thru the hard times and provided a safe haven for a monkey on my back for several years along with several others, i can reluctantly agree with the chucker and confirm that the satisfaction and reward is second to none in football.

Big Blow for Porties.Havent heard alot out of the Porties camp, but what i have heard is they havent recurited to well and now with TEDDY in the OUT list i for one will be predicting a lean year for the cockles.
Now it all depends in which side of the fence you sit on. eg a Emu wanka who thinks any club who recurits is going down the wrong road or a bloke who lives in the real world and thinks they need to try and recurit,or go for the catch fraze YOUTH POLICY which we all know only comes from clubs who struggle.Enter Shoe Boy he loves this get out of jail card.
The season is just around the corner boys fire up and let the best team win. ;)

KFP I take offence at being called an emu wanker, not everybody shares the same views. I don't have a problem with any other club recruiting any player/s they want, just that at MV we at the present time don't have a need to recruit as we have very good juniors that come thru the ranks & make it at senior level. We have at least 4 players on the track at present that didn't play last year for various reasons, and are A grade players. This situation no doubt will not always be the case but we intend to enjoy it while it lasts. To me a youth policy is promoting your good junior players to A grade if good enough and work on making them good enough & I think we do that. My final point is if a highly priced player came to us to play we would not be able to afford the payment.

We understand that some clubs have to recuit [don't even know how to spell it. Not in my dictionary.] because they don't have the juniors. If you have have 200 juniors why do you need to recurit? eg Noarlunga/ Reynella. Why not develop and promote juniors? Maybe even call it a
'YOUTH POLICY'.

After 2008 Morphett Vale f.c. didn't panic we stuck with our home grown talent and won the flag
with 3 players eligable for under 18.You do what you think you got to do. We will stick with what works for us.

I guess it really does also depend on where you finish on the ladder. If you play in a grand final it may be only the addition of one or two blokes that helps you cross the line the following year. If you finish 5th or 6th you may take a longer term view. If you finish last I think you still need to recruit, but the right guys is imperative. You need to slowly build some sucess at the club which will help retain players and help build some respect. I'm sure if a miracle happened next season and Reynella won there would be about 6-7 blokes who would retire. I guess in a few more years M/V would probably e in the same boat with a lot of the core group being around the same age and coming up through the ranks together. I just hope they have the B graders or youth to replace them because I would hate for them to actually have to go out and recruit anyone. I guess also having a new coach who hasn't been involved with the Dynasty or club prior, he may have differing views as to all you hardcore supporters. Knowing his past I would say if M/V lose the GF and it's theirs to lose, that he will proactively recruit, especially if a couple retire and a few decide to take up the big cash being thrown at them.
The only time i've ever been wrong...was when I thought I was wrong!!!

No he isn't cyclops. Cyclops has mellowed and not bothering to bless this forum with his comments. What's with all the name calling going on at the moment, started by KFP, I think we can have a healthy discussion without this, and it is not a matter of being touchie as you put it.

fair enought, but he was a fair peanut you'd have to agree! find it hard to believe he has dissapeared altogether of the forum. the dude bleeds black and red. it was entertaining reading his one sided banter. :D
