Byhaving only 8 teams in competition shortens rounds to 16 which some clubs are pushing for therefore every one plays each other twice no byes.
by combining hackham/osb would maybe turn them into a reasonable side .osb/lonsdale were not such a bad team last season although they didnt win to many games they certainly pushed some sides above them and hackham appear to have a full complement of junior sides this year.so that fills requirements of have all grades play on saturdays.
one would think that aldinga being one of the fastest growing areas in the south would pushing their club in that area to get players to their club.i know the primary school doesnt have sides playing in the school comp any more so there must be a lot kids looking for a game and plenty of adults that also might be looking for games.
This idea may not build sides up in the next 12 months but could and should work for the future.I know these clubs would argue against this but maybe they have to swallow their pride and work for the benefit of the league and themselves or they might just disappear. In the current financial situation there is only a certain amount of money around and by combining the clubs there might be more money for buying players which they seem to be having trouble to do.
I also dont see you coming up with any suggestions.Even your own club christies were around the mark last season.By the way have they moved the changeroom wall in the visitors rooms closer to the outer wall yet? that room is a disgrace players will be getting changed in the car park soon just like the old days.

Many of the local school kids opt to play at Myponga or Willunga over the Sharks. Some even have been known to play at Porties

Just wondering if any one knows who stole the goal post from Morphett Vale.
I don't think it was Victor, to far away and they only pinch our players.
Myponga only pinch our players.
Aldinga can't even pinch our players.
May be it was Reynella. They are happy to pinch what ever they can get there hands on,from Morphett Vale. Coaches, players, trainers and our slops.

Osb had a full complement of juniors when they merged with Lonsdale.

i hear that there are 7 kids that played football in the osb lonsdale sub juniors in the last few years that are now playing under 14s at port noarlunga. The rumour is that they will have a better chance of being spotted by afl scouts there.

Dead set. Great opportunity, just got to take advantage of it.

aldinga community has been growing at a rapid rate for 5+ years now, and we've got bugger all new players/supporters. cant see it changing any time soon.

exactly. i could be very wrong, but i cant even think of off the top of my head 10 players that have come out because they have just moved to the area.

and even if i am wrong, and more than 10 have come out, then i CAN tell you that bugger all of them have stuck around.

Not sure what this rambling is about but I might attempt a comment.

Aldinga are potentially the next cove (if only they can funnel the kids to their club instead of Willunga), but do not see how playing Morphett Vale twice a year (in a North/south situation) instead of Morphett Vale once and Morphettville Park once is going to make it a more even comp.

As for the gripe about the changerooms - we used the away changerooms during finals last year (as the "away" team). They are still better than the dogboxes we are dished up at the other venues around this league.
