Well good on Lonsdale for taking a stand - a contract is a contract between club and player.
Too many times guys are able to walk away.
The joy of the CFL contract, they ARE binding.
Tough call 4 sure - but one worth doing to set the standard otherwise you open a can of worms and will continue to happen.

Definately not tearing ourselves apart. Just need to find that bit of confidence to win when things turn awry. Oyr boys are not taking the easy way out, numbers are good on the track & importantly, noone is leaving the club looking for a game elsewhere.
I am one of our biggest critics, yet i am exceptionally happy the way our players are taking ownership for their fadeouts. We have shown both ends of the stick in our games. We can be very good, or woeful.
as for last weeks ïncident" before half time, i can say from both the eyes of MPFC supporters & neutral fans Number 7 is a filthy mongrel. Nothing more nothing less & he will find out that Karma is a bitch.
To the knuckle head who suggests people would not enter our club because it looks on the outside like Hungry Jacks, well you had better get used to it, because me thinks you might end up spending alot of time in one. Maybe after a few years you can work your way up from fries to the front counter!

yeah no worries moe maybe you should take ya beer goggles off and say speak the truth instead of talking second wind of other peoples convo ......and can i get a drive threw coke with that....................

bn11, your HJ'S comments are getting even funnier, but maybe get the spelling correct next time, i think you would find it would be Drive Thru.

Although the contract signed by Gary was not the CFB document (CFB were not in force in Southern League at time of contract) it is a legally binding document (we have been advised by legal representitive).

This is the first time the OSB/Lons.F.C. has EVER held a player against their will but we felt a stand need to be taken against P.N.F.C. as we had already cleared 5 senior and numerous junior players to them this off season. Where does it end? Some of the tactics used by them have been very disappointing to say the least.

It also appears that a decision by P.N.F.C to play hardball with us in the past regarding a clearance has now come back to bite them.

two of our young players are trying to leave to go to porties as well...because they have signed the contract, they wont be cleared until they meet some "requirements"...

Porties have been painted as the villian of the SFL this week what with the Morphy Park incidents and the poaching of players. The Shoes cop a bit with their pillaging of Hackham that aided their 4 consecutive GF appearances at the start of the last decade, but one can't forget Porties winning the 97 flag with 5 or 6 key players from the Christies 94 premiership. And in an era when Porties hosted the GF and must have made significant financial gain and an unfair advantage over other clubs in the SFL.

Didn't the Christies players leave rather than poached

couple of things.

The juniors that have left are because of lions not having a junior team
The senior players that they have cleared to us only harris is still playing at the club and he left them last year but they didnt clear him, then he did his knee in a trial

The other thing about us holding players, 1st of all we cleared Gary to losdale after a season of senior footy so the kid didnt sit out of football.
Josh Newham cleared to reynella with in a week.

A club gains nothing but bad blood by holding players. Will Gary ever go back to lonsdale? dont think so. already iam hearing from people why would you go to lonsdale. you have to be there for a minnimum 3 years or sit out footy.

If i quit my job at work i have to give 2 weeks notice yet if i want to leave my local amateur footbal club i have to stay there for 3 years.. come on lets be realistic
