If that Pt Noarlunga player was number 20 I can understand this happening. His conduct over several years now has been deplorable. It is a reflexion on your club and his coaches that he still continues to use fists elbows and knees illegally and I believe to spit at opposition players. He is a disgrace to your club and your club is a disgrace for allowing his conduct to continue. Rather than inappropriate reactions to this conduct I implore opposition clubs to report him as the umpires don't seem too keen on doing so.

he still continues to use fists elbows and knees illegally and I believe to spit at opposition players. Have their been any reports of this illegal behaviour? I am sure all welcome official club complaints if it is waranted champ, or is your talk just gut feel or rumour?

I've seen him play a couple of times this year and many times in past years and have been told by others of his actions in other games.

All I've seen is an Edwardstown that keeps winning. It happened last year and this year its even more noticeable when they were supposed to have a depleted side.

And you'd expect their new arrival, the dangerous younger blyth make his debut in the 1's after a late start to the season.
Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.

I hear that that the Porties officials had a word to the Cove Officials. The Cove Officials have given a commitment to the Porties Officials that they will deal with it. There was no official complaint as it was unsubstantiated who said what.

I think that Port Noarlunga should be looking at the disgraceful performance of their supporters at their tin shed on the boundary line. The abuse thrown at the Cove players at the interchange area was nothing short of disgraceful. How the SFL could allow this is just a joke. It was interesting that a high ranking current official was at the ground yesterday, Surely he will do something about this situation.

It was also noted that a former high ranking SFL official was among the noisy people at this shed. It was no more than a mob of piss pots out for an a piss up..

My understanding is that the Cove FC does not condone racial slurs towards players.

It will be interesting to see Porties response to the abuse from a mob of drunken supporters towards a the Cove A Grade players.

I would suggest they grow up. If this is the type of behavior we can expect from the Porties people, then it is time the SFL look else where for finals.

This group of people's behavior spoiled what was a great game of football.

Justice was served when the abuse thrown at Cove Number 5, when he became one of the driving forces in one of the best wins ever for the Cove FC,

People who live in glass houses should not throw stones. Porties past players and officials should grow up and not become ugly piss pots at the football.

Hey mate, was an excellent game played passionately by players on both sides, and was a good exhibition how hard football should be played. Accordingly the crowd was excited, and contary to your commentary, there was also passionate Cove supporters, by your definition that would be classed as inapproriate behaviour. You see this every Saturday at every club. Get with it mate, the atmosphere on Saturday was really good, thats why people keep coming back. Pity there had to be a winner, but well done Cove.

Perfect advertisement for the move to 2 divs at mvale on saturday. Cracking atmosphere before the b grade (no juniors), very little support staff for lonsdale (goal umpire for them was roughly 8 yrs old), 53 scoring shots against their b's, 59 against their a's and informed by a lion that some guys just simply did not want to play this week because it was against mv @ mv. None of this is the clubs fault because im sure the people that put their hands up do a sh!tload for the club, but it is hardly an appealing thought to be part of week in week out. A competitive game every week and a chance at success will be more appealing to be a part of, and i have no doubt the wheel will eventually turn and they would get their chance back in div 1 one day with a much stronger outfit. Even the top sides are finding it tough to keep their players, because the closer competition in other leagues is more appealing, so this is just not to do with the gap in scores each week, but more about creating an environment that players, coaches, support staff, supporters want to be part of.

Because on saturday at M Vale it was ordinary.

We played them at Reynella two weeks ago and the plot was almost identical.

One of the bonuses of playing Lonsdale (at Reynella) is that you can pretty much park wherever you like around the ground because you are not competing with the parents of many juniors nor opposition players/supporters.

One of our lads was saying after the B grade game that his opponent was complaining that he could have played A grade that week if he wanted to but he didn't want to because they were playing Reynella. He then said he should have tave taken up the offer in the first place because he would have done less running in the A's!!!!!!!

Lonsdale probably played their worst game in 3 years on saturday but the club has improved a lot this year. Yes we were undermanned on saturday missing 3 members of our firs choice midfield and a few fringe players meaning we had to bring players up from the b grade who were either to slow or just not good enough when it came to playng the top teams.
The club is on the right track and when we are at full streangth we hope to be able to be very competitive with the top teams. Brighton beat us by 10 goals and they beat morphies so it shows we are just not as bad as saturday. We now have under 14s playing on sundays and should be able to have them play on saturdays next year and also get under 16s to. I am sure with the core group of our team very young success is not that far away and we can claim a top 6 scalp sooner rather than later.

That must have been 1995 DK when we only won 4 games in A1 - SAAFL. That culture only lasted one season because we didn't invite back the guys who simply weren't good enough !!!!

Yeah DTH you certainly needed a cleanout. In 95 the game was played at TT Gully, only played as I was coming back after long term injury from a 2nd's league team. Played the game, lost, in best players, said thanks, went to Lennies, back to main club for rest of year. In 96 Brighton invited me to play in A2, instead to went to successful A1 club and stayed there for 7 years. Brighton wouldn't clear me until I paid $20 for my socks and shorts, that they said I could keep anyway. And yes the buggers were serious, and they were smug about it. Is that the culture you got rid of DTH?? The blokes were good, but the club admin were twisted. I am sure they have moved forward since then, but I was never going to support or play for this team again.

Like business, reputation is so important for long term success of footy clubs. Little or badly managed issues can be so costly. In business if one of your high achieving employees leaves your business because they need a change, or your business model wasn't the right fit for them. What would you do?
Are you going to burn them, take them to the Industrial Relations Commission, hold them to contract and make them sit out of work until the contract has expired??
Or do you wish them well on their endeavours, count your loses. I don't need them here if they don't have the passion. Then start looking at your own backyard, how do I make this workplace more attractive for my workers, start rebuilding.
As a good employer I know what I would do. But I don't work for the Lonsdale FC.
Not quite sure what you're trying to say and what analogy you are trying to make DK but sounds impressive. 15 years is a long grudge. I've done my homework and worked out who you are. You've given me a good trivia question for our Quiz Night. Which player with the famous SA sporting family name played 1 game for Brighton in 1995 and we wouldn't clear him in 1996 until he paid for his shorts and socks ?
I have heard about those quiz nights DTH. Very enjoyable nights altho the questions can be quite tough for those who aren’t up with current trends....For those who are interested I managed to get my hands on a couple of questions from last years event...

Q. Who was the headline act at the 2008 We Love Sounds festival?

Q. How much change would I get from $3000 if I purchased a 12 month tan Ezy membership (Brighton Road) and a tattoo of some Chinese symbols on my inner bicep?

Q. True or False: Ben Brookman is taller then our goalposts.

Q. Multiple Choice - What goes best with a tight pair of cut off denim shorts:

A) Slip on chequered loafers
B) A Hooded sweater without sleeves
C) Pastel coloured tank top

If this sounds like your type of thing perhaps PM Down The Hill for details about this years event. Pretty sure if you pre-book a table of 8 you get a free bottle of vintage Grange hermitage.

Very humourous Swooper. Even I had a chuckle. Hey, if the cap fits wear it. If our 14 years in the SFL has added a bit of class then good on the boys. I would suggest the answer to your last question is "All of the Above" depending on the weather.

Shoe Boy - That sound pretty nasty about what happened at HV on Saturday. I hope your facts are right and if true something needs to be done. We play HV this Friday night under lights (A grade only) so I hope these blokes aren't lurking in the shadows.

The yetti was checking the BGrade results in the paper to see how Reynella was going. looks to me as if the b grade is worse than the A's as far as close results.

Morphett vale 24.29 to OSB/Lonsdale2.2
Flaggies 24.15 to Marion 0.1
Happy Valley 14.9 to E/town 3.4
Reynella 33.22 to Hackham 0.0
Brighton 25.20 to Aldinga 1.1

120.95 to 6.8

2 results not in the paper

SO FEW BULLETS
