DTH, give the man some credit as he has shown wonderful foresight to keep the same top gun look since the mid eighties, which is now making a big comeback.

Have to be honest lads, it is pretty embarrassing to see what the away change rooms have been reduced to.

I'd be interested to hear the thoughts of other users of the forum as to the quality of away change rooms and warm up areas accross the league. Should make some interesting reading.

My thoughts:

1. Aldinga - fairly good size and facilities. Always good to have a run around in the paddock over the back to warm up;
2. Brighton - also decent size and facilities. If there is no rugby on, it is good to have a kick on the rugby pitch to warm up. If n/a, there is a decent lawned area across the road;
3. Cove - similar to Aldinga but bigger change rooms and a better surface over the back to warm up on (pity about the poxy oval we have to play on though);
4. Edwardstown - pretty crappy. Small area to change in and nowhere to really warm up before game;
5. Hackham - change rooms bit on the small side but lots of area to warm up on before game and good surfaces;
6. Lonsdale - big change rooms and plenty of room to warm up, decent walk from the change rooms to the oval is always fun;
7. Marion - change rooms fairly small but always plenty of room to warm up over the back if no soccer on;
8. Morphett Vale - Pretty crappy. Small rooms and nowhere really left any more to warm up now that they have extended the car park;
9. Noarlunga - Good sized rooms but nowehere really to warm up before game;
10. Port Noarlunga - similar to Noarlunga;
11. Flaggies - See Noarlunga and Porties;
12. MV Park - change rooms pretty small but you can always warm up across the road. Again, pity about the crappy reserve, i mean oval, we are supposed to play games on - absolutely no atmosphere;

I think that's it![/quote]
No atmosphere at Morphy Parks????? What are you talking about? It is about the only thing we get right year in year out!

Gotta agree there Moe. When we played there a few weeks ago there was heaps of people all around the oval. The usual crowd around the club rooms and along that side past the scoreboard. And then a huge group directly across the oval in front of the carpark. I assume they were the B graders but there was definately atmosphere there. More so than other grounds anyway...

It seems to be a trend, if you have a decent sized visitors change room, lets make it smaller. Christies Beach was reduced some time ago, a recent trip to Port Noarlunga the same, and now Reynella. Lets hope no others have plans of reducing as I don't think anyone else could afford to (and I don't mean money wise).

Ok home and resting, season over. Got a bit of work on rehab but will be back bigger and better.
Great to see the camaraderie between clubs on the day. The Christies trainers were great stayed out in the rain with the Cove trainers for the hour and half it took to get the job done. Much appreciation goes to the trainers from both clubs. Job well done.

Care to explain what happened? And if it took an hour and a half, was the game called off early or what happened?

The christies trainers also helped our B grade out a few weeks ago when something happened with our trainers and they were late getting to the ground. GOOD WORK CHRISTIES!! :ymapplause:

I dunno ... I reckon where they are is the "real deal" for Marion ! Until they get the development of their juniors back as a priority and start building a club rather than building a team with money, where they are is about right. They have some wins coming up but they had a tough early draw, and they lost to the Twisties - but they've had a bit of a jump on Marion building a team with money :)
THey'll finish around where they have been finishing recently - somewhere in the middle.

Marion do have 14's and 16's. They are doing better than a lot of the clubs in the area for juniors (Morphies / Mitchel Park / Colonel Light Garders and possibly Kennilwork). With no recent mergers and a couple of school closures and reduce number of young familes (school closures) there may not be enough kids to go around?
Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.

From personal experience, I can't agree lads. I have probably played 8 or so games at MV Park over the years and have hated every one of them. It feels like you are having a kick with your mates at the local reserve.

Dazza, Juniuors is our priority and has been for a number of years now! Both 14's and 16's had wins on the weekend which is fantastic to see and as BTP said the 14,s have moved into the 8 fantastic, and I am sure the 16's can do the same by the end of the year & we have taken measures to ensure we will have Under 18's next year also. Some REAL hard work has been going on this area for years and our mini's program who have some fantastic young fellas to come through will hold the club in good stead for years to come. Get off your high horse pal when you have no idea on what our priorities are.
No excuses for the senior perfomances this year so far, well I won't share them on here anyway, the guys need to have a look at themselves in a few areas if they want things to change for the rest of the year. You only get what you are prepared to work for and that is the main thing that needs to change at the moment.
Anyway we hope for some better results soon!
