I feel sorry for the Under 18 and Under 15 players that will not have the opportunity to play. This is the opportunity for them to play in front of SANFL and AFL scouts so this could harm their chances of playing at a higher level.
Perhaps the SFL should have signed a contract with the Hills League.
I think if the under 18's & under 15's want to play in front of SANFL & AFL scouts their best bet would be to play under 18's at a league club. There they would get the development required to help improve their skills & have league clubs pushing them up if they are good effort. I agree it is an opportunity missed to play a strong combined under aged game, but i don't think it would hurt their chances of playing at a higher level...
