Not as bad as the score suggests??? A 20 goal drubbing??? It could've been a lot worse if some of the Winies could kick straight!!! ;)

9-1 in the first 15mins is pretty straight.Last 6 shots of 3rd quarter also didnt miss. Hats off to Reynella, superior skill, workrate, set up, but was a reasonable hit out for them in the conditions, plenty of good contested ball for a 20 goal game.

WLF lets just say its a dissapointing situation that Marion cant field a full strength side at any time throughout the season! Some good young talent out there from what ive seen, not playing to their full potential.
Have found a diamond in the rough tho! Who's the young ruckman with the leap, looks like he can play and from what i seen, the better the opposition the better he plays!!

Aaron Robinson was the ruckman, an eligible U18 that has been playing ruck this year as our 1st, & 2nd ruckman haven't been playing most of the year, maybe 2 or 3 games between them.
Our 3rd ruckman, who is meant to be our CHB sustained a injury riding a moto.

We have Hackham this week, and i guess corkies hurt less when your winning so should see a few back in this week 8)

I have heard $1200 a game from a player at the club. I wouldn't be surprised if thats the case.

Any truth to that SB?

How would any player at the club know what Matt Golding or any other player is getting??? Why dont you PM the name of the player that stated the outrageous Golding amount...... or you dont know and you are just making crap up???

I would say he is probably employed as a player and an assistant coach (1 of many from what i hear) so maybe something like $600 to play $600 to coach would be more like it JJ2010!!!!

Whatever the figure is it wouldn't be low. From what i hear a few years ago he walked into another SFL club for a meeting and stated his figure before he even sat down and they couldn't do it so he walked out!!!

Shoe boy no offence but with who you've played so far lonsdale would be 5th on the ladder (no offence lonsdale). Your only win left for the year could possibly be porties. But who knows week to week what they are doing. You are on paper 5th and as for the team of the year can you re do that table in about 5 games. As I asked already what teams are you playing twice this year

Only U/18...wow
Good to see a junior at Marion really take the game up to some of the monsters he is playing on and never give up Running and Jumping into them, even clearly outsized, he never gives up and sets the standard others should be following!!

Anyone got any news on Edwardstown, how they are travelling with injuires at the moment, have they got anyone coming back in to there side. That loss last game would have been dissapointing for them!!

Noarlunga will find it very very tough to add to the win column, be realistic!!
Big movers will be Flaggies, very good ride home, only playing Porties(twice) and H/Valley, then not much after at! Should and could win 7 or more of the final 9 games!!

Don't think so, mate. For starters the Lions have just been creamed by Christies, and there is no way they'd beat Port.
However I agree with your point ---- the Shoes are in a false position. Amongst other things they have two byes up on some of their rivals. I reckon they'll be on a par with Port and Flagstaff when the dust settles.

What I mean by this is so far shoes have played someone,
1-4 once for a loss
5-8 3 times for 2 losses and 1 win only due to a falcon loss & exit from the 8
9-11 3 times for 2 wins
12-15 4 times for 4 wins
if I did this last week it would read 4 games 4 losses top 8 and 7 games to out of the 8 for 7 wins. Shoes are 9th in my book.
remaining games the entire top 4 valley port and us.
That would possibly be 7 wins for the season. Reckon ratsy had more wins than that last year and would 7 wins be enough this year.

Good luck to Scott Pollard who will play his last game for the Emus on Saturday. Scott has a neck injury which has forced him to retire from football, he has been a great full forward over the years at the Emus and will be greatly missed, in fact his record speaks for itself.

Wow that's a huge loss and congratulations Polly!
I played on him a couple of times, and great 0-20m sprinter, great hands and great kick.
Well done on a career that puts him among the best forwards the SFL has seen.

Good luck Scott, has obviously been a great player in this league for a long time and I think Spot on has put it perfectly...his record speaks for itself. =D>

Come on Emu subscribers, more info please. It must be serious if he is retiring mid-season yet its been suggested he is playing one last game this week vs Cove. Clearly a very important game, so I'm a bit intrigued as to why he won't finish the season or retire immediately based on whatever diagnosis he has just received.

Having said that, other than the goals he's kicked himself (which is plenty), we would all have a bloody sore neck from watching all the goals Polly has had go over his head in the last 7 years.

Big round this week with some excellent match-ups.

And going back to last week. Cove and Brighton matches were outstanding in all grades. Great competitive footy all day with results shared between the clubs. The A grade was a great advertisement for the SFL. High scoring but still plenty of defensive pressure and played in great spirit with no undisciplined acts or melees. Just good hard clean footy.

Must have been the place to be alright ---- two one-point margins amongst it all. I should have made the trip down the hill (no pun intended).
Re Polly-- a real shock to hear the news. Great guy and great footballer. I'm a little like you though DTH, a bit mystified about the "one more game".
