New recruits, surprises?

Cove have had 60+ on all 3 sessions this year.

I'm guessing that would have included at least one Sunday training..??

How are the Cobras adapting to Mr Stringer....and vice-versa...?

I heard there was abit of a pasting at a family day to some late-comers from Stringer.
Lads had to stand in front of group and explain themselves...

All positive so far! Both adapting well. Exactly what the cove faithful have needed. Excitement all around.
Didnt make any stand out the front just asked them as they entered and that was the 1st training session not a family day.
Yes there has been the 1 sunday session Swooper!

Junior teams being flogged by 30 plus goals each week will only turn kids off footy. As for the power house teams being allowed to have 50 kids in one age group on its books is disgraceful. Junior teams should be limited to 35 players per list with excess sent to the struggling clubs for the benefit of all. Get rid of the 4 team junior Sunday comp and spread these kids amongst the battlers. Time for the league to have some bite and tell Edwardstown that when they were invited to the league they had 2 years to bring their juniors across. Where are they??? Bring them over this year or p*#s off!

PM you will upset everybody on here if you raise 2 divs. It wont happen.

What is a power house team??

It is impossible to force clubs to cap numbers of kids, they play at a club to play with their mates. If numbers are capped we run the risk of losing kids to other sports or to no sport at all.
If numbers were capped we would still have 30 to 40 goal thumpings as all clubs would (as in soccer) keep what they deem to be the best footballers in that age group and send the rest away.

I agree Edwardstown need to do something about the junior problem, however the SFL has allowed other SFL clubs to enter Sunday sides and not Saturday sides. Can't demand E/Town comply when the old hands don't.

These clubs hurt the clubs trying to do the right thing, It is rubbish that clubs with a full list should have to suffer and split teams to different grounds on the one day.

Not sure about Happy Valley but Edwardstown have retained 98% of last years players with also adding new players. Your information is wrong about Edwardstown but know of Happy Valley losing some players - not sure how many though!

He won't upset me with his 2 Div discussion. It's gotta happen otherwise this comp will continually be passed on as a joke. Look at Hills Country basket case in Callington. Now Sedan Cambrai. Well the SFL don't have them as bad as that, but they have a lot more. Until this comp understands this it will receive no creditability and be known for players only getting a tough game once in a blue moon.

It is not keamy's fault. he has been excellent so far with his enthusiasm, knowledge and drills. Training has been first class fore those who are there........
Has also spent a lot of time on the phone to potential players. He has kept his cards pretty close to his chest about any developments; but i get the impression he is reluctant to blow too much hot air up peoples arses. he asks them if they are interested, and if they dont seem like it he says thanks very much.

there could be a really good opportunity for some young blokes who are dissatisfied where they are; either by the current coach, or through lack of opportunity to come across and step up and get the game time and exposure they are after, and play on a beautiful oval with 1st class facilities.

so if anyone is interested or knows anyone who might fit this criteria perhaps they would get in contact with the club/keamy. there is a sign out the front with details...............................................

Who are Marion playing in a trial this year? Callington?

Im taking a stab in the dark here and would suggest its Onkas possibly picking up Dan Threadgold. Isn't he living in the Hills now.

Bit of talk now starting about particular OUTS of clubs, anyone care to add to the list -

Reynella - Threadgold (Hills?), Billings (Hills?)
Brighton - Hunter (Hills?), Twoomey (Work?), Norsworthy (Sturt)
MV - Greenbank (McLaren), Rigg (McLaren), Riley (McLaren?), Ellison (Nurioopta for work, not sure if he'll play?)
Cove - Reavills?

Any other notable departures elsewhere?
