Myponga played its A grade for the first half and B grade for the second half probably the reason why marion looked as though they were coming back. Myponga feilded two decent sides with about 3-6 to come back into A grade

These recruits have come with big reputations, one being a ruckman, one a CHF, the other a midfielder.
Should top up the Bombers nicely i'd say.

Why bother asking a question you know the answer to?

I'm asking for more info than i currently know ZC, its a pity you can't help me isn't it?

Then why not speak to your source at Brighton, I would think he would have the most info.

Or are you pleading ignorance on this occasion?

Reynella beat Reynella in the Messenger Cup!

Strath are just pissweak ******* amateurs if they can't find a team for what is an important showcase of southern footy !! I for one am absolutelely apalled that a club that supposedly has some pride and tradition should just ditch this game.

The GSFL should be seeking some retribution for the damage this has done to their league, and so should the Comunity Football Board !!!
This sort of disregard for the bigger picture outside their own club should not go unpunished. Strathalbyn, you are a disgrace in my eyes ..... and I think in many others as well.

Totally agree. This has become a permenent fixture on the calender over the last few years. It is to showcase some of the best footballers the area has to offer. I hope the selfishness of 1 club does not jeopardise this fixture in the future. I have been to see several of these games and have been amazed by the intensity and skill level for a game in march.

pretty hard weekend to have the game i would have thought with Cricket Grand Finals and Clipsal 500. From what i heard there were only 17 available alot of which werent a part of the 2010 Grand Final Side. obviously a dissapointing situation. You would think they might be able to reschedule the game for this coming weekend perhaps.

The Emus have a trial against Hahndorf this Saturday at Morphies. Thankfully its not at Hahndorf again this year, as last year a few of us made the mistake of having lunch :drinkers: at the excellent Hahndorf Inn prior to the night game!

The camp didn't end up happening, we realised that bringing our players to Yankalilla was just too close to the clutches of Ca$hius Clay and Pongy so we pulled the pin

Na it didn't go ahead as with a few weddings and Clipsal on, we had a heap of players not available so it was canceled. We should have merged with Strath for the week and taken on Reynella in the Messenger Cup!

good to hear that strath werent the only ones not to have enough numbers :)
id put forward that the Messenger cup be played on the Saturday following the SFL and GSFL Grandfinals that way everyone is most likely still available,
Fit, not worried about getting an early season injuries and the game would get a decent turnout with spectators most likely not having anything to do on those weekends also!

Was there anyone at Marion that stood out at all! Lots of new players, with probably another 5-6 players to come into the A grade side once cricket finishes!

Well yes helicopterking..... There was..... I saw that Marion had four very good midfielders. One took a great specky in the second half.
I believed Marion was missing 8 to 10 players who will walk into their A grade side.

And YES they will be having a A grade and B grade side this year.

After speaking to 2 different people at the game. They believe Marion will be in for a very long year. They couldn't believe how bad they actually were. And please don't shoot the messenger

Just on Marion, I've heard they are struggling also. And not just from what has been reported in the Messenger.

I read somewhere (either on here or in the paper, can't remember) that they had signed 10-15 "quality players". To that, I ask this question....

What sort of "quality players" are still available for signing in mid-March? Would have thought a vast majority of good players would have figured out where they were going to be playing well before March.

I spoke to one of the boys i knew that played there and he said the difference between the top 5 players in their A's and the rest of the team is a massive gap
they had a handy left footer fairly solid lad
they need a few more talls to back up the young fella who was rucking
