I read somewhere (either on here or in the paper, can't remember) that they had signed 10-15 "quality players". To that, I ask this question....

What sort of "quality players" are still available for signing in mid-March? Would have thought a vast majority of good players would have figured out where they were going to be playing well before March.

Well if they dont field 2 sides the club is gone, or they struggle until more players come available in years to come! What would be a better option?
If you were a Junior, would stay at a club with no Senior side? I think not. Full credit to those who battle it out, i guess they could only improve each year from now on.

Well yes helicopterking..... There was..... I saw that Marion had four very good midfielders. One took a great specky in the second half.
I believed Marion was missing 8 to 10 players who will walk into their A grade side.
And YES they will be having a A grade and B grade side this year.[/quote]

Will they be able to play with the points system, 21 points to play with and a decent A grader likely to be 2 or 3 points each? Not as easy as buying players as it was.

Marion only won three games last year!!! How can they get any wrost??? My guess they will be such the same. If they can win about the same again that will be a good effort for a club who almost folded.

Was it last year where aldinga almost folded??? and now they are talking finals and success.

so with a top coach like keam in charge, all marion can do is their best for the upcoming season with an eye on the next year already. and basically start again. because obviously most decisions made in the last 5-8 years have proven to be bad decisions.

at this point i would say that any player would be a walk into their A grade. good on them for getting 2 sides together. it will be a long year ahead.

here are the clearances in for marion so far. maybe someone could shed some light on these players and whether they are A or B etc.

i've never heard of paul. what amateur side was he playing for? has he been injured?
matt linke would likely be in the running for captain he played there last year and played his juniors with marion. he will have a bit of work leading a young side and to motivate them to see out the long season ahead.

These recruits have come with big reputations, one being a ruckman, one a CHF, the other a midfielder.
Should top up the Bombers nicely i'd say.

I have not heard anything about these recruits is this just a rumor or did the info come from a good source?? Are they training with the team yet it's almost round 1??

This year's draw finally show that the SFL has lost the plot.

The Junior draw this year is an absolute disgrace. The clubs that are fielding full complements are being screwed over.

Without banging on too much about Cove's issues with the draw, 2 points come to mind.

EG: Round 7 Seniors at home v OSB. Juniors away at Brighton, this is a real whack on the financial bottom line, No BBQ in morning and no one at the footy in the afternoon.

Round 13 Seniors at M/Ville Park, Juniors programmed at home Cove v Morphett Vale: Go Figure that.

How about BDOS in round 20 Seniors at M/Vale 18's at Marion v F/Hill, 16's @ M/Vale, 14's Bye.

Why would you do this to two of the strongest clubs in the last 10 years, in fact two of only four clubs that have played in a GF in the last 6 years. Surely they and the football public deserve to see 2 great clubs go at it from dawn to dusk. not have byes and ring in's, especially when they both field full units.

I won't even go into how F/Hill 14's are being screwed over by having 7 away games in a row and Shoe Boy can fire up over Noarlunga's draw.

SFL are destroying the foundation that has made the comp great by splitting clubs, we lose the family spirit that has made the Comp strong..

If Clubs don't want to or can't field full units dont make the clubs that are suffer. Why should the not compliers be rewarded??

Under the current SFL regime the whole comp is being weakened, non achieves are being rewarded.

Make the clubs that are defying the rule comply or leave. 1 in particular is advertising that their juniors from 8 to 18 play Sunday comp. No mention of Saturday. If they want to play Sunday piXX off and join the SAAFL Juniors, yet they expect us all to bring our juniors to them and fund their club.

Sorry about the rant.
