Aldinga got up by about 6-7 goals I think. They came out like a house on fire and our guys were half asleep. Raced to a 4 goals to zip lead, we fought back a bit but couldn't make any real headway.

Still we got a fair bit out of it, found out about a few, both positive and negative.

Haha, the Viking-Towns would be more apt.

Couple of young lads from Flaggies as well...

Sharks looked the goods in the trial game but I'm loath to make any fantastic predictions at this stage - waiting to see how we handle ourselves in the real season. Can't wait for it, I've been missing my footy.

Just to let you all know, we kick off at home against Hackham this weekend and it's also Sponsors Day at Shark Park. If you're a current sponsor, or if you think you may be interested in helping out our club, come down by all means. It's a fairly informal get-together - drinks, finger food, and the best seat in the house for watching what will hopefully be a great game of footy. 2pm is the official start but feel free to turn up earlier. I'll be doing the meet and greet as everyone else involved with sponsorship is playing bloody B grade  . So if you do think you might want to look at sponsoring Aldinga, come talk to me about it, I'll be the short chick in the equally short dress, with a deep voice like a bloke's. :?

Look forward to seeing people there, and go the Sharks!!!

A bit late on catching up with results from the weekend in the SFL - but what happened Saturday down at Aldinga?

A sign of a long year or are there players to come in?

Would have been confident heading in surely...

Was anyone there for a look?

That was Brighton 124 points, one of our better results vs Brighton in the last 12 years. 32 points the week happilyretired was referring too. Don't worry, now no-one wants 2 divs it'll happen :)

Oh wait on, you're talking about Mr McSpaz. D'oh! Yeah, he came out of retirement for about the 4th time. I think he's just going to play for ever. Still very handy down back. He's got a crook back and knee and someone clotheslined him last week but he's loving it. And it means a lot that our boys are old enough now that they'll remember watching their dad play football. :-)

Bahahaha!!! Do you work with him? Yeah, he's got a few nice sprig marks from the weekend. Bloody glad they've got a lift in that building because I don't reckon he could handle stairs on a Monday. I hope they've invented better drugs for arthritis by the time he gets to age 50 or so.

He'll be fine - we'll keep him out in the field and mobile - he wont have a chance to sieze up :-)

Define 'big $$'. I'm party to exactly where our money's going and it's not on player contracts. It might have been a different story 5-6 years ago, but in recent years there have been substantial cuts to player payments. Look, I could put our lack of success down to injury woes or the fact that our team lineup changes every year so the boys have to learn how to play as a team all over again. Both of these things are true of us but ultimately it comes down to not learning from past experience and mistakes. Off-field, things couldn't be better, with finances and improvements to the clubrooms and the social side of things. But that's not translating to our on-field results. Don't think we aren't aware of it or concerned. I don't think I can say too much more on here.
