Didn't they loose there best player and captain in Adam Rigney ?

8-} ...and have a fairly even hit out with the Minties?

On a side note, is it top 5, 6 or 8 that play finals in the SFL now?

Nah, they chewed us up. Would've won by 15 goals

Clearances already in for Battafioco, Lane, Sexton and I wouldnt be surprised to hear Eagleton and Smelt jumping ship too

Theres a few more tipped to join JC at Cove from his 18s team he coached a few years back like Curyer, Stringer, Cox

Played alot of kids last year but will likely lose Smith, Walton, Birbeck, Dolman, Dearman, Evriniadis. I reckon they will all make SANFL 18s

Bruce and Shurgot wont play many games

Couple of boys who are still overseas - Page, Nicholson and a few that will probably take holidays in the year when they know finals are not likely

Lack of depth and playing kids mean even quality B graders leaving is gonna be a headache

It's a sad state of affairs but they seriously need to look at this year for a rebuild and try and get some players back.

Mister Footy turns out whilst a few of these are spot on they have convinced some of the older guys to play on. Will be interesting to see their commitment level.
Did hear Smith joining army so not going to be at South or Happy Valley

thanks to marion for the hit out yesterday..presented with over 45 players and whilst they were under the pump in both games they fought it out and gave a us a physical contest around the stoppages..they wont play finals but there is something to work with there but its a long haul..good luck to ben and his boys for 2017..

Credit where it is due - couple of decent recruits coming and some positive changes being made at Happy Valley.
Unfortunately there are some at the top that need to lose their ego and realise there is no "I" in "CLUB"

"Has the penny dropped" with some clubs backtracking on the issue of Sunday junior footy after they aggressively fought to keep 14 and 16 with stats , graphs and a royal commission and now want to mirror the Saturday programme of 13 , 15 ,17.5 :-?

Cant be serious?

Clubs are struggling to get one u13 team and will use u12's from what Im hearing, so there is would be no chance of a Sunday u13 comp.

If you have an U15 Sunday comp, then were do any overflow from the u13's play?

Under 14's is the sensible solution as it covers kids that don't get picked for Sat 13's and 15's.

That being said I think its time that the SFL and SANFL work through the issues of Sunday footy and look for our Sunday teams to play in the SANFL comp as a few HFL clubs now do.

Still can't work out why you'd change Saturday age groups!! No need foe the change imo

I've been out of the loop for a while now but my son still plays so passively involved, but didn't know this, which HFL clubs have Sunday juniors?

Many are baffled....it was designed to help the weaker clubs get u13's up yet Lonsdale, Marion, Cove haven't been able to achieve this, meaning there is less teams than under the u14 model last year....and we have lost players by bring down the age groups from u18s to u17's.

Trial games this w/e between The Shoes and Flaggies for all Saturday grades. To be held at the Hill. The ground is in fantastic condition and dare I say that many of the long term faithful Shoes supporters will never have seen so much grass on the Pig Pen!

Flaggies where aggressive in voting for 14 and 16 on Sunday and gave reasons why and now have not fielded a 16 side on Sunday ?

For the record The Shoes voted to keep the junior programme as 14/16/18 but was voted down thus we feel the Sunday programme should mirror the Saturday .
