Haha that's a cute way to put a positive spin on it for the SFL considering both clubs are exploring options to leave the SFL.

Save your chopping block, they're seeing themselves out already.

Hi all I'm new to the site as a blogger.

I think the league don't look at the level of which team will be favoured by the venue, just the amount of revenue it will get. Over time some decisions made by the current committee has had us all scratching our heads and there will probably be more.

One other thing I'd like opinions on is the Cove Football Clubs. Do you think they should sign on their current coach for a further term or let him go.

Welcome GIH, and no SB I don't like talking to myself.

Don't think revenue is the issue, they would get the same no matter what games are fixtured. Porties now get 2 home finals by default, where if the venues were flipped it would be avoided.

Non-issue now anyway, just interesting to compare to some leagues that go out of their way to ensure neutral venues and ours don't.

Im more annoyed that I won't see the A grade due to the changes in times for the Sunday finals at HV

Haha, SB not Dutchy.

Yes you couldn't be more correct about other leagues and neutral venues. So with this in mind why aren't we playing a couple of finals at Hackham oval. Big ground with plenty of parking.

Both are grounds where access is only via one spot, the entry gate. So the entrance fee can be collected with no people jumping fences at other locations around the ground.

I'd personally like to see the bigger games at the nicer ovals. Hackham oval at times is in great nick and has a lot of size to run on. But it's all about the $$$

Fair question. What I'd mainly like to see is a quality deck. I think the Shoe delivers on that front, without having seen them for some time I wouldn't imagine Porties or Aldinga currently have a nice green deck. Bice Oval can be a quality deck and is also a big oval. My point is SFL chooses ovals where access is priority over the standard of the oval.

Well you do want people to be able to attend, and for them to receive the revenue from it. Would love to see some other clubs invest/obtain fencing so that the Finals/GF can be rotated properly.

Would also be great to see the minor grades have a proper premiership presentation after the game rather than a half-arsed presentation behind the toilet block. Last year was an utter disgrace and disrespectful to the players involved - with all the open space at Hickinbotham, surely they could set aside a spot for the presentation which involved the crowd better.

Heard this morning that HV have asked a MV legend to help them find their new coach. Interesting.
