To be fair, watching Porties would be a lot like watching C grade...

From Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/cbsaints/posts ... ETosjm2XRl):

CBFC Members, Supporters and Players

We are thrilled to extend a warm and enthusiastic welcome to Brian Haraida as the new CBFC Senior Coach.

Brian has quite an impressive CV, and his journey from being a former player with Central Districts Football Club to becoming a seasoned leader is nothing short of inspiring. Brian's accomplishments in the football world are remarkable and speak volumes about his dedication and talent: He boasts an impressive record of 268 league games in the SANFL from 1990 to 2004. Brian was an integral part of Central Districts Football Club, contributing to three Premierships, including the historic inaugural win of 2000. It's worth noting that Brian is not only a Central Districts Playing Life Member but also a SANFL playing life member. He served as a member of Central Districts' leadership squad from 1992 to 2000, with the honor of being Vice-Captain from 1992 to 1997. Brian proudly represented South Australia three times, holding the position of Vice-Captain in 1996. In his most recent role as Senior Line Coach "Defence" at Woodville West Torrens from 2017 to 2022, Brian helped lead the team to back-to-back Premierships in 2021 and 2022.

Brian's unique journey from player to senior management roles has equipped him with exceptional player management and relationship-building skills. His consulting business, Natural Born Leadership (NBL), reflects his dedication to nurturing talent and fostering success. We couldn't be more excited to welcome Brian to our club. His experience, passion for the game, and commitment to developing talent align perfectly with our club's values and vision. We look forward to all of our members having the opportunity to meet and interact with Brian, learn from his wealth of knowledge, and be inspired by his incredible journey.

Before we move forward with this exciting change, we would like to take a moment to express our heartfelt appreciation for our current coaching staff, Thommo, Newy and Danny. All 3 have been enormous to our team’s growth and culture and their dedication to coaching has made a significant impact on not just the playing group but the club as a whole. Please join us in giving Brett, Josh and Danny a warm send-off and expressing your gratitude for their incredible contributions to our club. We are fortunate to have had them as part of our coaching team, and we are excited about the future with Brian joining us.

Interesting that their plan is to rebuild in the SFL and then head back to the HFL

Is it? Seems odd. Imagine getting back on their feet and used to playing in the SFL and then coming back to HFL. Just doesn't add up.
Good luck to then though hope it goes well. Will miss kicking goals from the centre square at their ground though

Thats what some of their players are saying, anyway agree good luck to them, it seems a good fit for them for where they are at right now.

Although it seems there is a group of their better players not keen on moving away from HFL and will be on the move.

All of the above is a croc. The Ironbank club fully researched the move, discussed all proposals at committee level with a SWOT plan and put a thorough process to its members including the explanation that there would be NO going back if it was voted for. The club is hellbent on making this work for the very long term. If people leave as a result then that is their personal decision but the club will do all it can to keep them there.

Those who were involved in the process know exactly what happened and the rest is just heresay. Let’s just wish them well and welcome them with open arms, they are a really good club.

Loved your post, Divers!! Assume you had a few drinks before you attacked the keyboard.
After a few strong drinks myself, I think your message was, “With all their success, Flaggies can’t hold onto their coaches”.
Yes, we have had a number of A grade coaches over our premiership journey, but all have left for personal reasons.
Shows the strength of the club that our performance has not diminished.
Merry Christmas to all SFL followers. Have a great one.

Meanwhile, Porties continue to dream of actually making finals

Winning flags equals boring now? Talk about clutching at straws!!

The only boring bit is playing crap clubs like Porties twice a year, talk about a snoozefest
