then there was another five or six blokes from the south east that have gone back while uni holidays are on

A few injuries there MM.. but I was more interested in your comment about the 5-6 players that have gone back to the south east for uni holidays?..
isnt there any local kids that you can draw from your immediate suburb? relying on recruits will make it pretty tough. Also isn't the SE the recruiting area for the bays U15-19's?

What is Morphie park doing to get the young ones in the local area to play footy for the roos?

Uni students equals to old for 15s and 19s. i dont think i have seen a 15 yr old a uni but i may be wrong.

Also we dont have alot of juniors so it is tough

I was 17 when I started Uni MM so I reckon that blows that idea out.

And yes, Key defender, the South East is the GFC recruiting zone..

I'm well acquainted with Morphies - they're a fantastic club, always make you feel welcome. Seriously, leave off the s*** about their alleged 15 new players - even if it was true, so what? How many SANFL players did Cove buy a few years back? It's not illegal. I think it's great that the club's turning itself around, they had a hard run of it last year. Thought that green-and-yellow away guernsey was a ripper - get a couple of sponsors on board and it might actually take off! :D

Completely agree with you Fisho ---- from where the Roos were last year it's much better on the whole competition for them to lift. If it happens to be with help from outside guns, so what !! Who'd possibly begrudge the Hawks if a top player or two happened to step their way and help save the whole League the cricket score margins we are seeing ?
Must stick up for Cove though ---- their top guns are home-grown. Not only that. they are "sons of". Josh Ramsey's Dad coached Cove juniors for some time, as well as the SFL Parker Shield side (Under-15). Derek Reavill (Dad of Matt and uncle of Dan) was the club's inaugural captain-coach. Pretty sure even Josh Vick is a former Cobra colt.

Should have worded my last post a bit differently. I wasn't bagging Cove nor saying that the majority of their players come from the SANFL. At least, that wasn't my intention. I'm just sick of hearing about the SANFL as an excuse for Reynella getting done by Morphies. Everyone's got SANFL players. And yeah, it might make a difference to the side, but not as much as you'd think. You can only buy success up to a point. That's why the Sharks are sitting on two wins instead of five or six. Which is a shame, because they're so close - one more win for them could be the turning point. 8)

If the results are right Brighton has done a job on Aldinga The game was close at 1/2 time but blew out with Brighton kicking some 31 goals Christies beat the Twisties Porties over Flagstaff and Noarlunga by seven over Reynella.

At Hackham to see very ugly game of footy.Highlight of the day was to see the old pres back havn a look at the emus being Greg Wilson, then later in the evening the best coach ive seen in Trevor Potts back at the club catching up with a few of the boys.

Getting back to the game,it was said several weeks ago on the forum about a young lad by the name of Blake Mosar being bit of a talent.I had the priveledge of seeing this young hawk yesterday for the first time in action and he definately got my attention. He was exceptional against M/Vale and was clearly the hawks best player,he really does look the goods.

Now i do not want to disrespect the hawks but they are going to be fighting a war at seasons end to hang on to this lad,and i really hope the club around the corner being M/Vale do what ever is required to get his services next season.Young Blake from all accounts really enjoys being at the hawks but i think for his own development he really needs to look at the big picture. This lad will blossom with really good players around him.

yes aldinga was pumped after half time 6-9 to 1-3 at half time and the game was good up to that stage, then the brighton stepped it up and smashed the sharks after that 24 goals to 1 after half time, you would think the sharks are back to square one again on that score line they has been inprovement but not anywhere to a top six level, good to see r. hart play some good footy up to half time needs to do more of it when he plays well the team plays well

One of the most outrageous posts I've ever read. So he needs to go to Morphett Vale to better his footy does he ? I thought South Adelaide was the place to go for that.
Maybe if you let the lesser clubs have some of your excess juniors instead of grabbing the only crumbs from the starving we might all have a better competition.
Remember, opposition clubs are like umpires --- without them there is no game.

Get the young lad to South,if he is that good that would be the best thing for him.Hope he has backing from his club and coach

This is one of the most stupid things I have ever read!!

The kid enjoys playing footy and he will continue to play at Hackham next season! Good luck getting him down to MorphettVale.... You are the most hated side in the comp and the fact that fools like you have your head so far up your own ar$e doesn't help!

The world doesn't revolve around MVFC..... The world revolves around strong football leagues!

For too long this league has let the stronger sides dominate..... While the lower sides are struggling everyday just to field teams! Poor MV didn't get to play U18's yesterday :( That is because the league continues to allow the top clubs to have 40-50 kids on their lists and does nothing to help the teams who have 12-18 kids!

People with the attitude you have shown in your post are the reason this league is nowhere near as strong as it used to be!

 There is a good footballer at one of the struggling clubs  Quick! Let's get him to the club who has won the last 4 premierships so he can taste success and help him realise his full potential.....

The kid loves footy and will be in the Brown 'n Gold next season!

And last time I looked, you guys weren't really getting the full potential out of Bodey!! The boy doesn't even want to play in your A grade side! He has tasted the success, played with the good players but maybe he is just happy to be playing with his mates.....

You have a shocking understanding of what local football is about Cyclops!
