Evans coached at South Clare and in his first year took a side that didnt make finals the year before to a premiership and losing 1 game for the year in the 2nd year took the side to the GF and lost and only 1 other game for the year ,3 rd year was at Reynella and they only lost a few and then this year so in terms of win loss ratio its not a bad record.

Also in that first year took a kid that was kicking bags of goals and said if you want to make it in footy it aint as a full forward we will teach you to ruck and be versatile. 2 years later he has broken into the Glenelg side which isnt easy to do.

You would have to pleased with that.

I apologise for the threat dutchman but cyclops has nothing constructive to say and since when does a non playing coach need to be fit enough to get a kick. He should keep that sort of stuff of hear as it is offensive.

Dave is a great bloke a great family man a good husband ( he missus might debate that ) obviously has a football brain as his record speaks for itself, coaches kids and the worst thing about the comment is his kids read this site on a regular basis. ( they are fantastic kids to ,who support there father as he does them ,in all the sporting involements he and they have)

Noticed Rodney Fox and a few others thinking it was well done by Lonsdale kicking 8 goals against Cove on Saturday.....they lost by 14 goals!!!! And consider this...
Cove had missing:
Ramsey, Vick, M and D Reavill, Schneider and Heath...and STILL win by 14 goals...
I thought with these 6 players out (there 6 best players) Lonsdale's effort was ordinary surely a 14 goal loss to a side missing there 6 best players is not a good effort!!!! What would they have lost by if this 6 did play???? It proves the competition is far from even and we just think its a good effort for bottom sides to get done by 14 goals...Think these bottom clubs need to stop thinking that 14 to 15 goal losses are ok especially with the side that was put out against them...I thought they were a chance upon hearing Cove's ommisions

Keep your negative crap to yourself Jono you dropkick. Lion's were not talking this performance up by any means we know where we are at. We are struggling big time and im sure if we had close to our full squad we would have rolled Cove with their stars out.

We are also missing a host of our best 21 and while they may not be household names the following are all in our best 21 when fit without a shadow of a doubt: Keiran McIntyre, Ryan Sargood, Beau Kempster, Mad-dog Devonshire, Tim Pickert, Scott Patching, Paul Southam Clark,Sam Kelly, Adam Wilson, Phil Jauncey, David Sampson, Rob Wilson. Probably forgetting a few too and not mentioning Ash Baxter at South and a host of other strong 'B' graders. These guys represent our entire spine bar 1 and our 2 best ruckmen so you do the math.

Keep these guys together and with big Dan Loveridge returning from perth very soon and hopefully some recruits im sure the lions will return to the finals in 2009 with some luck.

As for Cove they have some great depth down there and i hear they also have their fair share of injuries at the moment. The majority of Cove players/supporters arent arrogant like you Jono so hopefully they do take take the next step this year and win that elusive flag.

ZC how do you know that no offers have been made. Obviously things could fall apart at the meeting, safely to say. Do the playing group at Morphett Vale make those initial decisions of who to approach aswell? I guess if no offer has been made, the coaching apprenticeship that has gone approximately 47 seasons by Bobby Lloyd has been a waste of time. Somehow, based on my chats with Dave, I get the impression he dislikes Morphett Vale as much as you like to stir the pot mate, so lets move on. When you stop making up stories about other clubs then I guess I will do my part and stop wasting Big Red Delicious's precious time.[/quote]

I have my sources and know for a fact no offer has been made to anyone. It's not a decision that will be made lightly as whoever gets the job will be (hopefully) taking over a 5 time premiership side and need to be a decent sort of a coach, not saying Evans isn't but from what I've heard things aren't so smooth at Reynella at the moment.

As for stirring the pot I don't think I've posted anything on here that hasn't been true so don't question what I write if their isn't an issue it shouldn't get you so fired up should it?

Well done to Noarlunga knocking off Reynella, anyone at this game to give us a review?

Also good efforts from Marion and Lonsdale, getting fairly close to more fancied opposition.

Saw this Blake Mosar for Hackham and yes he looks a talent, very good over head. Would have liked to see him stand Pollard at some stage tho. But poor form from a group of the Hackham spectators who took player abuse too far and tried to accost one of our players by taking the field, no need for that!

ANY feedback on supporters taking to the field!!! What happend not good for footy somebody should be accountable!

Well said Lion Heart.

Jono you are a joke. Every club has players out and injuries and what not. I still think with Coves depth they would/ could have done alot more damage. Its not just being happy with kicking a score its about some scoreboard pressure (unlike us on the weekend). At least if they are kicking some goals they are heading in the right direction. If your too arrogant to say well done to sides that are improving especially after Lonsdales up and down year then thats your option.

Its easy for people to forget the times they were struggling, it takes alot to stick around and continue on at the lesser clubs.

Are your okay Mex you have been quite ever since the news of the Prez and coach finishing up at season ends. Don't tell me you have driven up the freeway to support MVFC development squad Jervoi$.

What happened to your blokes Mattee ? Down 13 to 4 at three-quarter time in a pretty vital match. Was this your worst game for the year, or were Port that good ?

Extremely disappointing game for flaggies BTP- the first quarter I thought we did OK, holding Ports to 2.4 or so with a strong breeze, then got smashed in the second quarter, where Porties kicked 5 goals into the breeze. 8.8 to 1.1 at half time, game over.

Porties played pretty well, but Flaggies played poorly in the second, bombing with the breeze to the loose Porties players.. Late goals in the last 1/4 nothing but consolation as the sting had well and truly gone by then. Tough when an ex flaggy player burns you too! (Mannion 7 goals). Umpiring was substandard but didnt effect the outcome. Good fun bagging umpire "McLaren"....

Probably the poorest I have seen our blokes play this year- maybe they were sore after the Morphies game? Who knows, but they must bounce back this week.

Umpiring was substandard but didnt effect the outcome. Best thing about the day was the Stones Green Ginger Wine, which is saying something.

Observer was that some of Porties best footy for a while?

Ok then I am sorry Lonsdale....
WELL DONE on losing by 14 goals and kicking a whopping 8 for the game...
I know Cove have struggled previously... BUT they never accepted losses like that.... the way a lot of the supporters of SFL clubs that are struggling do..... I feel for Lonsdale's position i would love to see a strong SFL competition, but while ppl just except that there no good, or use injuries etc as an excuse...will they ever improve...
Anyway, I am a fan of Lonsdale and all clubs that have come up with us from Div 2, i just feel ppl need to get a bit harder on there club and demand improvement.
Just on Lonsdale is there any talk about what will happen next yr with the school being sold.

matee gee Ports pressure on the ball and player was good as you seen The side is very young and keeps coming performing well. They certainly are learning how to battle games out. The next five weeks will see where porties are I guess. I thought Flaggies had expected a easy game by the way they went about there football.

Lions supporters. Dont pin your hopes on big Dan, my mail is he will return from the west and head straight to the U.S of A.

Big Dan had a good game in the West on Sunday not having much of a kick for three quarters and being dragged and the returning in the last to kick 4 goal 2 and win the game of his own boot

Disappointed with the Flaggies game A and B grade with the first game i have seen for 2 years. Some new faces with talent and some juniors have filled out well and playing good A grade. But good to see the boys again.
If it wasnt for the green ginger wine i would have frozen my but off.
I know some players get the same hair cuts as AFL footballers but umpires sporting the same do's as Afl umpires was just asking for it! Ha
No1 for Porties with the biggest shorts i have ever seen played well and Ramage for Flags seemed to create something in defence but fell apart at half forward.
Do you always drink this much?
No i was sober for 11 years...
What happened?
I turned 12!

The word leadership must have a pretty fluid meaning at Reynella then, pity they didn't have any on the weekend might have got them over the line.
