41 behinds might be more believable, but I severely doubt the Emus would give them that many shots to miss.

You must be kidding about Flaggies, Jono!! We would have the best drainage in the league (based on the same format as Footy Park) and you would be hard pressed to find a wet spot or any mud. If you ask any of the Reynella boys about the state of our oval after all the rain we have had, i think you'll find they'll all give it the thumbs up.

I think most you guys are living in the past! I agree that our oval used to be sh*thouse, but it is far from that these days. To rank it below Morphy Parks and Brighton is a disgrace.

Anyway, instead of just having a go ill float my opinion.

1. Noarlunga: Easily the best
2. Porties: No cover for the spectators but good size and surface.
3. Hackham: Great oval for footy. Lots of space
4. Dingys: Good coverage and a nice shape for footy.
5. Marion: Bit long but nice surface.
6. Chrisites: Apart for the wind, nice, big oval.
7. Flaggies: Improved greatly over the past few years.
8. Reynella: Nice size, not a bad surface.
9. Happy Valley: Nice oval to play at under lights. Nice size.
10. Brighton: Cricket pitch ruins it.
11. Cove: Postage Stamp
12.Morphett Vale: Too small and uneven surface.
13. Morphy Parks: Terrible shape.
14. Lonsdale: No fence and massive cracks.

Feel free to have a crack[/quote]

Just wondering who was the last club to have an A grade match called off because of a sub standard oval. I am thinking Flaggies Oval a few years back. I think there was a few toasters and other rubbish sticking out of the quagmire they called an oval. Sounds like they have improved the drainage, but does it still smell like a rubbish dump which I heard it used to be.
Driving along Sherriffs Road the other day and Lonny Oval looked a treat. The other ovals must be in good nick if everyone is bagging this one.It would have a good centre with no cricket pitch I would have thought. Maybe when the school vacates they can build a fence around it and park cars. Morphie park earlier in the year was more dirt than grass, maybe if the trees didn't hang over the oval more grass would grow.

W&D for a while there I thought you knew what you were talking about and then you go and say that. Read previous pages before out landish comments like that. I know you guys have improved but seriously in no way would Morphett Vale consider this a danger game. Good luck tho ha ha ha ha

Certainly did rush him back for the blockbuster tomorrow, on a serious note, small oval and terrible conditions expected, beware the wind and rain, has been known to be quite a leveller... Played 2's a couple weeks back and will be his first appearance this year in the 1's

Yep. Expecting all these tertiary educated roos to outsmart us. But somehow i am not sure how bringing back "drongo" will help us in that regard.

but in answer to your question he played basically A grade the entire year last season and was awarded BOG in the GF. Surely the first time in SFL an u/18 has accomplished that?

cold wet windy day, ahh nothing like watching local footy. honestly i hope it buckets down all day and the wind goes straight across the ground, that may save the roos from flogging. All i can hope is that we are more competitive than previous years

Gerrard Bennett

1/ He retired from South Adelaide after June 30 ( the close off for signing players )
2/ He Retired from football because he needs to devote time to his business
3/ Reynella did not speak with him about playing this year

So hence he will not be lining up THIS YEAR with Reynella

So Legend killer when you heard this were you with Rock and his well informed SAUCES (intentional)

Heard Marion kicked about 30 goals to 12. At least the Hawks are starting to get some through the middle now.

Can't remember the exact score but Valley won by about 20-odd points. It was pretty close because it was pissing down with rain. The best bit was after the game when the kids started belting each other with those spongy things they put around the goalposts to protect the players. Better than Gladiators.

Courtney Fish, it seems like you are like most people on here and like living in the past!! Yes, we did have an A grade game called off a few years ago, but that was before all the major improvements to our ground. And Im not sure how toasters and other rubbish would be found on the ground when it was never a dump! Im pretty sure it was a pig farm before the footy club took over the land, hence the 'Bushpigs.' And no, it doesnt smell like it used to, simply because it doesnt get muddy. Which is great, because it was pretty terrible!!
