Re: Hills Football League
Have also heard there is a team from Southern wanting to join Div 2 of the Hills. If my information is correct then its a long way to drive from Mount Pleasant to west of Willunga where the team is located!

Who would this be? Momentum is building

Well I'm from that club and I haven't heard about it, and I'm a pretty big deal around the said club, but if it is true the sfl would have no one to blame but themselves, that haven't help them out for years now...

hahahahaha that's one of the best I've heard all year. Why bother moving the team? Half the players are going to be gone by 2009 anyway!

It's time the Hills league promoted the premier club in the country division and take away the bye in the first Div.. Clubs like Torrens Valley, Echunga love sitting in the weaker side of the competition and winning premierships. The HFL needs to grow some balls and make the change effective from next season, bet nothing happens! :(

central div or div one dont have a bye only div2 cause blackwood pulled out their second team which played in country div.
the biggest problem with putting top team up is not all clubs have juniors, so unless clubs have all four teams they wont be put into central div. eg kersbrooks a grade havent lost a game but dont have senior colts so wont go up even if the club wanted to. echunga havent won a grade premiership for over ten years

Just a discussion at the moment, just committee looking at options, long way off at this stage.
Hills country has 9 teams, SFL has 14.
Just part of a process to look at Aldinga's future plan, amazing how a conversation over a couple of beers goes

Just a random thing I noticed while looking at the SFL draw for this year, earlier in the year it has Aldinga playing at home against Christies, and im pretty sure thats what happened, and then this weekend it has them playing against each other again, and it also lists aldinga as the home side???Is this a misprint???? Surley the same club doesnt get 2 home games against the same team in the same year???? This would of (and should of) never happened before???

Yes it is true, 2 homes games vs Christies, bizarre, but we'll take it :)
Moving to the Hills is merely a talking point, would expect the committee to have the clubs best interests at heart, might provoke some interest from club faithful whom are rarely seen nowadays.
Quiet news week by the looks.
