Roos are a huge chance now. Thet have the best draw of the contenders with no more games against the top units. My guess right now would be the Saints and the Roos, but it's the most wide open battle for a number of seasons.

Can Morphie parks break in this year???

Morphie Magic, can you make it??? depends on which Morphie turns up,the hired guns or the old school? saying that it wont make a diffrence to the eight as the top 4 are so far in front. :-#

Attitudes like that are reasons clubs fall away. Anyone who plays footy has the goal of winning a flag, the first step to that is making finals. Much easier to attract good players to a club that has just played finals than one who missed out.

Attitudes like that???? What being honest/realistic. Everyone WANTS to win a flag but you dont win them every year. You set goals and plans and work to that plan!! and be honest and realistic about where you are. :?

Run home is intriguing for the mid table teams. Christies, Morphy Park, Flaggies, Marion and even Noarlunga are all chance of making it to 8 wins, maybe 9, so it could come down to percentage for 7 and 8. These sides all have games against each other in the run home so adds some extra interest.

Agreed honesty is needed otherwise clubs will be content to be competitive, but to say it makes no difference if you make the 8 or not because the top 4 clubs have it in the bag is silly. If I'm not mistaken (and I've been known to be) Brighton came from 5th last year and played in a GF?

As I said I could be wrong but Brighton got to the GF from 5th. The Roos and Shoes have beaten Reynella this year (I like bringing that up). Finals are a completely different kettle of fish. May not be realistic to think you can win it but to think it won't make a difference then you may as well not play.

Shoes too far back for mine, but mathematically they can still get in. One more loss and they are definitely dead.
Massive match for Reynella this week boys ---- absolute last chance in terms of the double chance.

Yes, Brighton came from 5th last year to GF, but did win 12 games in minor round and were just pipped by Valleys in Round 18 for 4th spot. We took revenge a fortnight later. I reckon Shoes are a real chance to win last 4 and make the 8. If the Twisties or Shoes finish 8th they may play Reynella week 1 of finals with the confidence of having already beaten them. I won't get ahead of myself though as the Bombers have a huge game against the Flies this week to hopefully secure a top 4 berth.

Come on DTH if you cant get ahead of yourself on this forum then where can you? Certainly wasnt an issue we had with Hot dogs.

You guys must secretly be hoping you face the valleys at some stage during the finals. Seems like every year Brighton knock them out.

I think we have a 4-1 finals record against Valleys and was the underdog in most of those wins. The one we lost was a Prelim at Bice when Valleys won their last flag. We were the Away side and had to find an alternate quernsey. We managed to get a Port Magpies prison bar set off Port. Brighton wore that style guernsey for a few years in the early 70's so we thought is wasn't a bad idea. Bit sad as it was Mark Jolly's last ever game and we have photos of him being chaired off in a strange guernsey.

Some of you guys do a good enough job of p-ssing off the likes of Fly etc. I notice the Reynella crew have been very quiet lately. Come on boys, anything to say ahead of this weeks "blockbuster".
