Well done to Reynella. I could sense trouble after watching the B grade end in a 5 goal Wineys win and could see the passion of the Reynella boys for a big day. Reynella as a club came to play and I must say the conditions were made to order. Brighton could not get their running game going on a heavy track and the Reynella lads who were given the key jobs did them very well. Just like Round 1 Reynella jumped us to establish a 5 - 6 goal lead midway through 2nd quarter and were able to maintain until 3/4 time. Brighton were full of running in last quarter and got it back to 2 goals with enough time left but Milo iced the game with a long bomb with a few minutes to go. Both sides had some key players missing so probably balanced out. I still believe on a decent day on the bigger grounds of finals, Brighton have the leg speed and skill level to topple Reynella, but can't take anything away from Reynella on Saturday.

Reynella finish minor round with Cove, Happy Valley & Christies Beach. Bombers have Morphett Vale, Cove & Happy Valley. Both are on 10 wins with Bombers about 9% clear so Reynella will probably need to win one more game than the Bombers.

Don't forget SFL bloggers, this Saturday, Brighton v Morphett Vale is at Glenelg Oval so spread the word to anyone wanting to see some quality suburban footy at an excellent venue.

Reynella have Prescott,Butcher,Mensforth,Corstens,McCade,Caruso,Bradshaw(si),Middleton(s)

Obviously wont be able to fit them all into a quality side like they have but with players to come back and finals around the corner every player is now fighting for there spot so some exciting times ahead at the wineflies.

ZC another great prediction about the wineflies some obviuos bias showing thru. Not toward Brighton but just your hate for the wineflies, as usual another clouded judgement.

shoe boy, at the Reynella game the Brighton capt took exception to an umpires decision and spent some time on the pine.

One of the Reynella boys (frick) head looked like an axe wound at one one stage

Kingy was sent off after believing a ball should have been called out of bounds by a panel boundary umpire who looked 10 years old and was smaller than my 8 year old. Play continued and a quick kick saw Reynella take a mark right in front of goal resulting in a goal. Kingy mouthed off (that wouldn't be Kingy would it?) and was sent off quite harshly it seemed. The kid was Field Umpire Glenn Godfrey's son and was part of a 3 boundary ump rotation which meant each did 2 quarters running a side of the ground on their own. The young lad could not keep up and really struggled to throw the heavy ball in all day. It was a poor call by CSLFUP to do this in such a big game. To make matters worse, the field umpires rarely blew time off when we were going through the slow process of this lad throwing ball in and the match finished about 20 mins earlier than usual with a couple of quarters only going about 24 mins even though there was no less than 4 goals kicked in each quarter.

on that boundry ump, that was the worst thing i have seen in any sfl match, how did they expect a 10yr old little boy to throw in a wet ball in more than 5 metres. This was dangerous for the boy as he basically stood 5 metres from the ruck contest as he threw the ball in. The SFL cannot let this happen any more. Not good for all involved. however this didnt effect the result.

Down the hill you werent sitting in that car on the wing that we nearly called the fire brigade for. There was that much smoke coming out the windows during the third quarter there were quiet a few concerned spectators. Ben Moore came close to thinking he would have to jump the fence to put work before pleasure.

Agree b/ump was to young but if we dont have umpires we dont have a game ( neseccary evil, umpires) Well done to him for having a go.

Kingy wears his heart on his sleeve and plays with a pride in the guernsey that rubs off on teammates around him particularly the younger lads. Not a sook just passionate. Boundary ump and short quarters didn't affect result and not trying to demean the kid for having a go, but Saturday's situation was not good enough, and did present a safety issue as well for the young fella. The other 2 boundary umps (one a grown man the other a 16 or 17 yo girl) were quite competent, which begs the question why they allowed the youngster to do a side on his own at all.

No EFC, you'll never catch me in a "doping scandal", amber fluid and a few chardys, but not the whoopy. It was a cold horrible day, so the boys were just trying to keep warm. Maybe they were just trying to fit into the Reynella environment, "When in Rome".

OK Morphy boys - heard on Sunday that some big names are out for the season for the Emu's. One fell on sturday with a broken leg (punter?)and Burns wont play for the rest of the year with his knee? any confirmation on this? shouldnt effect their finals campaign though, with the depth they have down there.

A Hill could be out with his knee. Still unsure at this stage. Punters (Ericksson) is out for the season. Hoping that the return of Bodey & Sammy J will offset the loss of these 2 in the past couple of weeks. Also B grade currently undefeated so you would be confident there would be some players currently in there (everton, Coletti, Zaluski, Lock - all A grade premiership players) that could more then do the job if / when required.

Cove far too good for Porties running out winners by 10 goals. Cove didn't appear to get out of first gear and although they were challenged in the first half, after half time it was one way traffic. GREAT game this week Cove and Reynella at Cove....

Pity the game is at Cove. I am sure Cove boys would like to play on an oval that at least represents an oval that finals footy would be played. Also I hope the weather is fine or you better find a tree to stand under
