Your sources aren't that flash then mate cause they forfeited against our 18's only a couple weeks ago, not sure why we were drawn to play them this many times so closely but they have forfeited 3 times against the Emu's this year... The league will not make the call that is required on this club so we will be here in 12 months time discussing this same issue...

Cheers for getting my facts up to date mex.Its fustrating to have to play against clubs like hackham when you dont even know if your juniors are getting a game.Must be even more fustrating for the kids who are hanging in there not knowing either.Lets be completly honest any clubs who can not feild ALL junior grades need to be looked at and asked is it in the leagues best interest to continue to include these clubs.Harsh i know but you try recurting good players from other leagues. its hard. because the sfl league has a bad wrap from those out side it

So by this logic we should see only about 6 clubs in the SFL continue to play? EDITED. As has been said many times on this forum, kids want to play with their mates and for succesfull clubs - this is why the strong clubs can field 2-3 teams in each junior comp. You can't force kids to play for a club they don't want to and it makes it extremely difficult for weaker clubs to get a good junior program up and running.

Hi all Im a bit new to all this forum banter.

Keen to be involved on what is happening on the up and down SFL.
I have played alot of games for a few different clubs and don't mind telling it how it is. I am looking at taking up coaching soon but not sure.

Thought I'd introduce myself not sure if thats the thing to do or not but anyway thats me.

Its taken me a while but I have read the past 10 pages or so and seems to be alot of focus on finals which is good and also a surprise moving side out maybe by the sound of it?

Think with the way things have progressed coming into the last few weeks of minor rounds that this years final series looks to be a corker. Any news of people hanging up the boots at seasons end or coaching staff moving apart from the obvious. Have heard at Porties they may be in the hunt for a new coach next year? On good sorce wonder if any truth in that? Goes with Hill and maybe Evans and also Lynch? Could be a different SFL next year?

Saw a Hills game on the weekend and witnessed Adam Widdison a tall blonde streaked bloke - he is a very hard player in the muddy conditions - someone told me he came from the southern league - was he like this down there he is a very intimidating figure in the Hills now by the looks. Feedback anyone - it was rather eye catching!
Fair duster in the u/16 game between Marion v M/Vale by thew looks of the messenger - not a good advertisement - should not happen in that grade without a severe penalty being handed down surely.

Played against Widdo a lot with Marion - we use to call him "Jack In The Box" as you meet him from the front while is attacking the ball and he use to pop up like one - followed by a girly bitch scream - Now have coached and played with him - and he is still the only one who comes off spotless on the mudiest ovals the Hills can dish up. Has extremely good balance when it comes to avoid getting dirty and wet. Get into him lads - good onya bringing it up MR JUICY - I do not know what game you were watching on the weekend, far from hard at it I would say - could hear his girly crys from the coaching box.

Getting to the fight that took place in the u16 game between m/vale and marion on the weekend, how it got a write up in the messenger is absolutely beyond me.It was a simple scrap that took place a cupla punches thrown and that was it.Was not an all in brawl, and from what ive seen this season no different to what u see in alot of the games played at u18 n u16 level. If there should have ever been a write up in the local rag about a fight that has taken place,it shouldve been the u18 game between emus and porties about 6 weeks ago,now that was a good footy brawl.

Find it hard to believe that Bergman wouldnt be coaching porties next year he has done a great job down there unless he has other commitments? The observer would probably know the answer

That will be very interesting to see how that plays out, obviously a lot will depend on this years finals performance, my sources tell me anything apart from a premiership will save him...

gday fellas,
long time reader of the forum! Thought i might get involved,i am reynella supporter. Whispers are that Dave Evans is safe next year priemiership or not. Is popular with the sponsors that throw money in the club and they are on the commitee. Not sure what the feeling is with the players but observations are that he is respected. Big game against Cove this week, if the ladder is true they are the team to beat. God help us if they are better than what M/Vale were a couple of weeks ago! Awesome.

Hey CT and those in the know. whats the deal with the Brighton vs morphies match being at glenelg oval this week. What is the real point of this? trying to beat the 12,000 which were there the other day? surely the crowd will be very very small.

This should be a cracker of a match as Brighton have alot to prove. Or were people on here getting a little ahead of themselves with Brighton (especially shoe boy) and last week was just a little reality check for them after playing a bunch of the lower ranked teams - time will tell.

Not sure Flyer, but im fairly sure this match has been scheduled to be played at the Bay since the start of the season? Either way im glad its being played there instead of Brighton oval, i was there a few weeks back when Emus played Brighton in the C grade and the oval (centre square especially) was in a shocking condition!

Should be a cracker of a game tho, as should Flyers boys taking on the Cobras down at the Snakepit. Also interested to see the result of the Twisties vs Sharks clash as well!

Why not AFL Flyer. The Bombers have a good relationship with Glenelg and most of our matches there have been a great success and we often make more money from gate, BBQ etc. than we would from 3 home matches at Brighton. We pioneered the Anzac Day GF replay in 2003 (it was our idea) and we played that game at Glenelg. We try and get a game there every year, just depending on the SANFL draw. Weather is a worry but we normally draw a bigger crowd than when at Brighton and we find that alot of the junior players and parents from both clubs are more likely to hang around longer than they usuaaly would. If Brighton was in South's Zone then we wouldn't bother with Hickinbotham Oval but Glenelg is a far more accommodating venue. It's also a buzz for the juniors who get to play on a league ground.

After a disappointing performance last week, the Bombers are keen to prove they are still in the mix.
