This is fact. Ben Moore was approached about playing at SHOC. They have never paid a player (fact) It was taken to the comittee to see if for the first time they should do it, the offer they wanted them to consider was $200 a game. They said we would like to have him but we are not changing what we have done from day 1 . Obviously he is playing at Reynella.

I doubt very much they would be offering this bloke $250 a game when they havent paid anyone else. Juniper was on Freo's list and is playing there for nothing

If waack was offered 250 a game ben moore should have been offered 10,000 a game, there is no way anyone is offering roid boy more than petrol money to play footy...

People that are writing Morphett Vale off are doing so at there own peril..... Too much quality at the footy club and finals hardness to write them off.... I think COve are ticking along nicely...They have a lot of improvement from Saturday and to finish with games against Brighton and Morphett Vale is just what they need to get them to there peak before finals and work on what they need to.... I think some of the problems they have had come September last two years is there last 6 games each year where against the Hackhams, Aldinga, Morphy PArk, Lonsdale etc.... and not playing the top teams from round 9 onwards until finals time!!

I agree Jono, but I do beleive the Cove oval is an issue, half there games are at the Cove and when there the CHF is taken out of the equation and if you noted the earlier post finals are played at venues were the CHF has a pivotal roal. Only my thoughts??

You could say the same for Morphett Vale the oval is of similar size and CHF rarely comes into play but they seem to have success in finals. I don't believe the shape or size of your home oval should be any indication of how teams play in finals on larger grounds. If you have the committed players and talent you will succeed on any oval.

Cyclops I actually hope morphetvale go ok in the finals and I'm sure they will, but from what I heard from a current player today there is a lot of unsatisfied players there I think this will have a negative effect on them this time of the year... knowing your coach is leaving perhaps the players aren't caring as much...

Yeah the Oval i think isn't to much of a problem cos the other half of your games are on normal size ovals....If Cove were lacking a CHF then i would agree but when the CHF does come into play come finals and Ramsey or Weidermann play at CHF i think thats the least of there worries!!!!

As if I am going to give out names on here, not only will it give up a mates name but it will start a feeding frenzy, I want our club to be the first to talk to them at seasons end, although I think they will be looking further country than us...

I have heard the same thing from a few names around the Emu camp. I reckon it may just be a few unsettled people with the whole coaching position and rumours from Jervoi$ are making a few people think of exiting. You will always hear this sought of stuff this time of year, it's just the top sides are payed more attention to as they obviously have the highest calibre of players. What about you a2m you guys found a new coach yet? That was the rumour I heard from your part of town that your coach was applying at Morphett Vale maybe?

Cant say that i have heard of anyone wanting out...only a couple of players likely to come back. Saying that tho i dont think there has ever been a season in any club where the playling list is exactly the same for 2 seasons in a row. I am sure there will be players that move on for various reasons and as i mentioned there will be new (or old) ones coming back.

We still have the remainder of 2008 to play out before getting too worried about that stuff...

Also well done to Brighton on the weekend. After hearing about how reynella beat them in the wet and muddy conditions the week before i was expecting the same from the emus but Brighton ran the game out really well and deserved the win.

He spoke to me about the coaching position there, but he isn't going for it as there is only one way they can really go after winning 4 flags in a row, I thought he was going to stay at dingy next year...
