Aldinga are staying in the SFL in 2009.

All this talk and the best decision was made. Alot of people are now keen to dig in the heels and make for some real success.
On another note if the A grade win the next 2 games that will make it four in a row, we haven't even had back to back wins at the club for about 8 years! Would be nice to knock off Marion this weekend another side we have gotten close to on more than one occasion.

Honestly the win was a good help but alot of little factors have come to light and we feel it is best for our overall development to stay in the SFL at this stage. I personally think there would be no goal greater to reach than getting back to the top in div 1, the league we originally wanted to be in 10 years ago.

Bassani to get the job at Mvale?
You must be joking. Majority of the A grade sqaud at Mvale would have a better understanding of football than him! he wont last 4 weeks at a club like morphetvale.
Someone already within the club will get the gig!
Earl?

Aldinga to stay in the SFL - great decision. =D> I wouldn't rule out the Hills league as an option for the future, but not this early. I reckon the key to winning games next year is to do a hard, solid pre-season.

(Looking to get back into playing next year myself, so I'll have to remember what I said about the hard pre-season and take my own words on board. )

I'm loving this coaching banter, keep it coming boys, here's what i know -

Neil Craig was approached some months back to take over, 2 meetings ensued and seemed happy with the club and it's structure's, made it very clear that he was in negotiations with another club (at a higher level) and that if things didn't work out that he would take over the position, since then he has resigned for another 3 years, oh well maybe next time. Other's interviewed so far are - Kevin Sheedy, John Cahill, Robert Dipierdomenico and Barry Robran, we are queitly confident that one of the above will end up at the Mighty Emu's next year...

One of the clubs main aims is to fill an under 18 side and we think it is a realistic goal. Of course with a few more wins it may have made it easier but in that we have a great group of younger guys that are keen to get back on board.

If we have a comitted reputable coach then it will be a much easier task, Mex do you reckon you could photocopy the resumes that come in for the Emus A grade job and send them our way???

I believe Liam Shrive is being tapped up to return to Emus in 2009 as a player coach (Emus club song to be changed to Pat Benatar's "All Fired Up" to clinch the deal).

Would players with the opportunity to break a long standing record, that being 5 premierships in a row, be more concerned about the coach leaving or being part of history at the club..??[/quote]
Do you mean M'Vales record?
Aldinga Premiers 1927-1932 - 6 in a row, 1934 - 7 in 8 years SFL

Think we (Aldinga) are a little bit off breaking that one for a while
