So turns out my mail at Christies was right. What a fall from grace and to be sitting bottom at the moment. I really thought they were going to contend this year. Care to elaborate at all LGIL?

Trevor Potts coaching Association side   Jobs for the boys SFL!!
Who's better qualified to do the job?
Yes Potts Is certainly qualified and also awaiting a letter from the queen very soon :D !!!! (he will be ok with me saying that). For 2 to 3 x training runs and a game I agree with Tiger pie, premiership coach gig first, then hopefully current A grade coaches were approached / given opportunity.
Is Potts actually confirmed as coaching the SFL team? Would seem pretty odd then to bash the whole concept on a GSFL post?? Or is just always grumpy nowadays??

Doesn’t say much for the competition when the best team beats the 2nd best by 10 goals and the 3rd best by 80 odd points. I know the season is a long way from over but will anyone challenge Flaggies?

That’s what I heard, as well as some people high up in the club. With the evenness of the comp behind Flaggies and perhaps Reynella and Valleys, I wonder if it’s a complete write off this season or there’s a chance to sneak in the 5? As I said, I thought they would contend as I rate their list but they are a long way off.

Flaggies only put Reynella away fairly late in the game. Morphies best footy is good. Interested to see how Christies respond for the rest of the season.

Even when players are reported the tribunal doesn't support umpires.

How many weeks should a player that had been carded get for repeatedly pushing an umpire in chest when escorted off the ground?

Touching an ump wow , bordering on a life ban?

I would just like to see the Tribunal reporting system be transparent .

Don't want to speak for the C9AFL Tribunal but I'm fairly sure if someone was found guilty of that up here in town, there is no way they'd pull a boot on again (in the C9AFL at least). And rightly so.

Minimum, the rest of the season.

You can't touch umpires verbally or physically full stop.

Round 4 - A Grade Match between Aldinga & Reynella

I stand corrected re the push, it was deliberately walking into the umpire & forearm into the left side of the umpire chest to shoulder area when been escorted from the ground for umpire abuse. Words to the effect of "that's holding the f____g ball you c__t.". Also told the umpire "you should quit your job" and "no one gives a **** about me or this game it's just community footy and I couldn't do anything to him"

The tribunal gave a 6 match penalty, down to 5 because of "good behaviour". The player was 19 years old which makes the "10 years good behaviour" even more ridiculous you should not expect poor behaviour in under 10s.

In another incident, an SFL Maroon jacket was recently overhead abusing another umpire at an A Grade Match between Reynella & Happy Valley. Calling the umpire bias in front of supporter at the match. Response from the league - it was a private conversation and the person (an umpire watching the game) shouldn't have been listening.

No wonder the umpires panel cant get umpires - the league doesn't show any support for them.
