Top 50 what?
Imagine isn't even close to being Lennon's best song let alone the best song of all time...

I think it's a little short for a top 50...

Music Max is all over the shop with their countdowns. I wouldn't read too much into it. As for the top 4 of all time that would depend on your taste or lack there of ;)

What song then ZZ......great song Imagine but slightly overated IMO.

Watching the Wheels is a great track. Nobody Told me is another underated song of his. ;)

Both great choices, Southee, really like both of them well above Imagine. "Woman" and "Just Like Starting Over" also excellent solo songs.

That top four, while good, could qualify for "most overplayed songs on radio, that are deemed classics".

I liked a lot of Lennon's "Plastic Ono Band" stuff: Mother, God, etc.

Another obscure one I'm fond of is Oh Yoko. Currently streaming that as I type this 8)

Agreed with Pseudo. Mother, God, Working Class Hero - probably not a popular (or populist like Imagine) choice but it's a cracker.

Agree with ZZ, Pseudo and LL, Imagine was a nice song not his best solo effort. I also liked th "Rock and Roll" Album even though it had no original material, Lennon had a great voice for Rock and Roll. I'm wondering whether Lennon would be still held in such high regard had he lived passed 40, I wonder whether there would have been any Lennon equivalents to the dreadful McCartney duets with Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson? I'll guess we'll never know,
