From Grand Funk Railroad's 1971 album 'Survival', a garage-like cover of the Stones' 'Gimme Shelter'

there is a band/group called Gregorian and they cove a whole bunch of songs by doing them in gregorian chants (as the name says) some pretty good covers in there.

The problem with Barcelona is that I like fish and chips but they had to turn it into calamari and patatas

Don't know about that, but you ever noticed the similarity between "Jean Genie" and The Yardbirds, version of Bo Biddley's "I'm a man"?? It's ....shall we say...close.

Yes Ive just listened to Im a Man by those sensational Yardbirds
The beat from this song and the beat from Jean Genie is very very close [-X

Just for the RECORD I consider the Im a Man version by the Yardbirds to be a better version than Bo's version

ONE

The Kinks 1966
Jimmy and the Boys 1979

The Kinks just as the better version

Jimmy and the Boys were an Australian new wave band in the 70s +80s
I had never heard of them until I heard them sing this song on an album titled Full Boar[various artists]

I always felt Jimmy and The Boys made it a different song. No doubt the original has an early punk feel to it. Just really highlights was a truly great songwriter Ray Davies is.
