Where are they playing this time? Surely they wouldn't have the Ent Cent booked?

Yes they do - I was amazed to see that. Would be surprised if that didn't get moved to the Thebby. From the few live clips I've seen of them they strike me as a very studio band.

For some real talent, how about Spandau Ballet and Tears For Fears at the Ent Cent in April! 8)

Wife's already booked the tickets for Massive Attack

We saw them when when on holiday in the UK in Birmingham in 2007.

Had my doubts as I thought they were a studio band as well. Pleasantly surprised when band consisted of two drummers, lead guitar, bass, guitar . Really good gig and totally different than what I had expected.

Live drums definitely did justice to "Angel"

I know Johno- we are a musical backwater when it comes to festival sideshows...or most tours when you think of it.

Three main reasons for no Soundwave sideshows at a guess

1) The festival hasn't sold out and is probably unlikely too as opposed to other states. So no promoter is going to put on a side show until that happens.

2) The Melbourne event is on the Friday, Adelaide the Saturday and Perth is on the Monday so there is really no time. Unless they play the Sunday night here and then fly to Perth the morning of the Perth festival which I guess could be done but there would have to be some fairly big incentive for anyone to do that. Be more money going to Perth and playing a side show there the day before their festival or having a day off. Otherwise it would be four shows in four days.

3) Its fringe time and venues are hard to come by.

No reason the Big Day Out couldn't have this year but even that doesn't sell out every year.

Sucks that Faith No More have just announced a second side show in Melbourne but can't even do one here.

and the first sideshow sold out in minutes. It might make perfect financial sense but I know a number of FNM fans that would go and see them if they played their own show here but have no interest in seeing them play at a festival for a number of reasons.
