Ed Kuepper is playing The Gov in March, and doing "Electrical Storm" and "Today Wonder" back to back from what I can make out.

Not my thing but Kings Of Leon's show at Adelaide Oval has been moved to the Entertainment Centre due to poor ticket sales. Supposedly a number of their shows on their Australian tour have now been downgraded to smaller venues.

Heaps Good! It'll be awsome seeing Lemmy and the boys play here in concert.

I really hope they do Dutchy because I will definitely go and see them. They're one of my favourite bands and I would love to see them in concert.
Saw them last time they came at the Ent Cent, amazing. Would definitely pay to go see them interstate if need be.

Kings Of Leon have now postponed their Australian tour until later in the year supposedly due to an injury to their drummer.

Maybe they need to come up with another pathetic song like "Sex on Fire" so all the teeny boppers can get back on their bandwagon.

Dead kennedys are touring the eastern states in April. No adelaide as far as I can make out. But no big deal. It's not the real Dead kennedys.....it's the "cover" band that tours without Jello, and whoever they can find on vocals. And NO, I'm not going...**** 'em.

No Jello, no DK. simple.

I can imagine band sluts like David coverdale or Joe Lynn Turner singing California Uber Alles and getting kicked off stage.

Was thinking about Jello Biafra yesterday; with The Melvins playing soundwave and DOA touring in early March and given that Jello has done collaborations with both bands, am I clutching at straws hoping he'll be making an appearance during their sets?

On the whole Jello vs DK thing I think you'll find if you dig deeper that Jello screwed them over with past royalties. They wanted to get the band back together (struggling financially I assume) but Jello didn't want to do it and wouldn't let them use the name so they took him to court and from memory I think the court found in their favour that they could use the name and he had to pay them back royalties (around the time he did that album with the Melvins that they effectively released over two CD's as a cash grab).

LL, you may or may not be interested to know I heard Grong Grong were offered a NYE gig at the Squatters Arms but they turned it down as supposedly they didn't consider it to be as financially rewarding as they'd like.

Well there is two sides to every story.
It's also worth remembering that East Bay Ray signed away the rights to "Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables" and to this day the band is screwed on royalities on what is still their best selling album.
The rest of the band wanted to use Holiday in Cambodia on a Levis ad. Jello basically said "You're ****ing joking" and that was the catalyst for all the current crap going down. As Jello said it's ironic that the band that spent their career railing against MTV then complained they weren't on it.
Also as I understand it any monies DK may have accrued during their career would have been swallowed up by the Frakenchrist trial. That's a band thing. You cop that as a band. You don't say "Gee that was really bad, but where is my money??"
Having said that I don't deny there was "Alternative Tentacles/Dead Kennedys" "Factory Records/New Order" thing going on.
Personally I think Jello should have taken the money $$$ for the Levis ads. I believe a band is a democracy and 3/4 beats 1/4 anyday.

 Just how much do they think they are worth???? Maybe they should get paid by the number of "new" songs they do???

Actually the catalyst for the tension was an accounting error at AT Records which initially resulted in incorrect royalties being paid to the other DKs members. All parties involved have acknowledged the error, but the subsequent court proceedings ballooned into a still ongoing fued between JB and the other members, with various accusations (most reportedly unsubstantiated) flying between the two parties over the last couple of decades.

At the end of the day, it's my opinion that both parties have made bad decisions and mistakes. Do the other band members have a right to keep playing as Dead Kennedys without Jello Biafra? Yes, but the thing is, Jello Biafra made the band great. Most (not all) of the music was his construct and all the lyrics were written by him. Furthermore, his stage presence, charisma, unmistakable voice, can't be replicated. So I can't see any point in there being a Dead Kennedys without him in the band (will never happen) and so I can't see the point on wasting money to see the band live right now. I honestly believe it would be like watching a cover band.

This was quite interesting.
Probably late 70's, an interview with Jello and Jools Holland.
