Opeth @ HQ - March 12th

At HQ? Wtf.

A little strange given their last two adelaide shows were at the Thebby. Personally I dont mind gigs at HQ, saw Opeth play there in about 03/04 on their Damnation tour.

Also keen to see This Will Destroy You on March 24 @ the Cranker. Fairly obscure post-rock band from the US. Pleasantly surprised they'll visit Adelaide.

Maybe for the smaller acts, but for an epic band like Opeth, a little small.

Yeah I've only been to HQ twice (back when it was called Heaven) to see Tomahawk/Melvins/Fantomas in '03 and Grinspoon in '98 and I always thought it was a pretty decent live music venue.

I was at both those shows, and The Gov is definitely (in my opinion) a much better venue to watch live music.

Nah it was Kranktus and maybe Pre-Shrunk with Grinspoon.

Fantomas at The Gov was the better gig, although Fantomas at the Uni Bar the year before that was awesome (I also bought a bootleg of this gig called 'Self-Destruct Adelaide 2000' from Verandah and the Mr Bungle one from a few months earlier too).

Finally!!!!!!!! Pennywise have announced the dates for their postponed Australian tour! I am cheering BUT they havent named a date for Adelaide yet!

Finally!!!!!!!! Pennywise have announced the dates for their postponed Australian tour! I am cheering BUT they havent named a date for Adelaide yet!

It better not be on Wednesday April 6th because that is when Dropkick play their gig at Thebby.

The Wednesday the 3rd would seem the likely date! Im shattered I am away at a wedding in Melbourne, pretty sure refunds have to be given you would think??

Thats sucks Tex. I hope I get to see both, have no idea which one I want to see more if both their gigs fall on the third. Haha and April is offically footy season, people should not have weddings during footy season.
