Chicken Noodles have thrown down the gauntlet to ladder leaders Right Nut after the Nudes smashed Right Nut to end their unbeaten streak in the top of the table clash. The Nudes racked up a mighty 2327 to serve notice that Right Nut doesn't have this premiership won just yet. Meanwhile, Bennymacca is dead stiff to be punted from the top eight after scoring 2253 as they lost a thriller to the usually low scoring FOOTYLEDGENS. The LEDGENS pinched Benny's spot in the top eight with a score that would have beaten anyone except Chicken Noodles. wiggbros were looking a likely promotion candidate a fortnight ago so they are an unlikely first up victim to the Ingle Farm Felons who finally recorded their first win of the season. The Felons are only two and a half games outside of the eight and they are due a bit of luck so it's not all over for them. Magpie Mafia have traditionally been a fairly strong team in this grade but they've lost their way a bit with another loss, this time to the kiwi who needed the win to stay ahead of the relegation zone.

Except for Right Nut and Chicken Noodles going on their merry way, this league is tight as with only 3 and a half games separating third from last. Only the Noodles topped 1800 and only the Cub really bottomed out but there were no close run matches this week. The most significant result was Blighty Teasdale smashing the B Train to climb to third and the Felons winning their second in a row to get off the bottom of the ladder. Browny, Magpie Mafia, and wiggs turned around some dodgy recent form while Jimmy Crack Corn continued on with his winning ways.

Jimmy crackcorn are on fire at the moment after they cleaned up second ranked Chicken Noodles as they continued their charge for a top four berth in Division III. Another slow starter Ingle Farm Felons have won three on the spin now and topped the league in scoring this week to dispose of Magpie Mafia who are now drifting perilously close to the relegation zone. FOOTYLEDGENS are also looking wobbly after a Failed match against Failed Creation who got the vital four points.

Right Nut continue to lead the way and Blighty Teasdale and wigg bros also managed wins to keep up with the joneses even though the Nuts doubled their lead at the top of the table. Kiwi and B Train had strong performances this week to put the heat on Greedy who slipped out of the eight and Browny who have clung on for another week. In relegation town the Willies look likely for the drop and the Hawkers are going about as well as the real thing while the Spankers got spanked again.

In a week where 1600 was a reasonable score there were plenty in Division III who passed that easily in what was a strong round for the league. However the big story was the sensational result of the Spankers vs. Willies match. Ice Bank Mice Elf won by a massive 1262 points after The Willies were positively Nick Dal Santo like with the second smallest score in Hogg history and the worst score in the Hogg since 2012. Only Strawb's Mustangs with 372 came in under The Willies flaccid effort. The statistical effect of this freakish result now means that the 13th ranked side now has one of the best percentages in the Division. Is there a hint of artillery in the air with this one?

Right Nut where the big winners as they smashed out a league high 2320 on their way to opening up a massive three game buffer at the top of the table. In this league there are not only top eight spots for grabs but also top four spots as it looks like only Right Nut has booked the double chance slot so far. Underbelly and kiwi Krappers were two teams I thought would do well but after their start to the season all bets were off. But don't look now but Underkelly is up to third and the Kiwi consolidated their spot in the top eight this week.

Perhaps the most crucial results this week were those that could eventually decide who goes down to Division IV next year. The Willies look gone for all money as they were easily beaten by FOOTYLEDGENS who clambered out of the drop zone. The Ingle Farm Felons had a little run a few weeks back but they've gone back to their bad old ways with a second straight loss. The worst thing for the Felons is that it was a loss to the Hawkers who are also trying to survive the drop. The spankers were brought back to earth this week after last round's romp after they got rolled by Underbelly. Greedy Guns have gone off the boil as well so a few teams will be trying to scramble a few wins over the next five rounds to ensure they don't go down.

There were a couple of upsets this week with none bigger than relegation threatened Greedy Guns toppling the runaway ladder leaders Right Nut. The Greedys now move into a group of five teams chasing the top eight who are two games clear with five to go while Right Nut still have a comfortable two match buffer at the top. The other top side who were toppled on the weekend have no such luxury. Underbelly were beaten by her Nephew FOOTYLEDGENS which keeps the Cub's season alive while sending Aunty Kel all the way down to eighth spot down from third. It's going to be tough though for the 6-7 teams to sneak into the eight.

The relegation spots are not sealed mathematically but things look pretty grim for the current bottom four sides. As the minor round comes to close what you don't want to do when you are in the bottom four is lose matches and all four did that this week. The Spankers have the percentage to get out of trouble but are down on scoring in comparison with the Magpie Mafia and B Train sides who are just out of reach.

I figured that no last quarter heroics from Paddy were forthcoming which is where he gets nearly half of his points sometimes. I went the Doc but I got lucky as I played the bottom side in Premier League and snaffled the W.

Brown 25FC, Greedy Guns and the B Train all gave their finals hopes a big boost with important victories in Round 14 of Division III action. Perhaps the most important win of the three was B Train's win over fellow contender Extend the Dukes as bennymac has now leapfrogged his rival in the standings and all three are only one game out of the eight with three to play.

The vulnerable sides in the eight have revealed themselves. Blighty and Wigg have threatened to go top four all year without really grabbing their chance and all of a sudden the last three weeks are about qualifying for the finals rather than eyeing promotion. The Kiwi put in a really ordinary shift to leave the door wide open after they got spanked by the relegation threatened spankers.

Right Nut are a bit loose at the moment as Chicken Noodles go from strength to strength. If the finals are this week then Chook wins it. Failed Creation, Underbelly and Jimmy Crack Corn look certain finalists after their wins on the weekend. It wasn't a good week for bottom ten teams to cop a loss and that's what happened to FOOTYLEDGENS who have tumbled close to the relegation zone. Nobody does relegation better than Cub who was in the premier league a few years ago. The bottom three look gawn but the Spankers are standing up and fighting hard to keep their divvy III spot.

The Run Home - Round 15*

1. Right Nut 44 (Failed Creation, Hawkers, Jimmy Crack Corn)
Right Nut has gotten a bit wobbly in recent weeks but should edge Failed Creation and do a number on the relegation bound Hawkers. Could finish the season with a loss against Jimmy though and lose top spot.

2. Chicken Noodles 40 (Blighty Teasdale, The Willies, kiwi Krappers)
The Noodles are hot right now and I expect them to win all three of these matches and win the Minor Premiership.

3. Failed Creation 36 (Right Nut, Underbelly, Hawkers)
The Creation has moved into the top four but the next two matches are tough. A win against the Hawkers will ensure they play finals this year. They would need to win one of two very tough matches to stay in the top four and I’m not backing them in.

4. Jimmy Crack Corn 36 (Greedy Guns, Magpie Mafia, Right Nut)
After a slow start Jimmy has got cracking. There are a few tough games to come but I reckon Jimmy is in good enough form to cut the mustard and earn a Qualifying Final against Right Nut.

5. Underbelly 36 (The Willies, Failed Creation, Chicken Noodles)
Underbelly have been threatening the top four and I reckon they will get there in the end despite copping a tough match in the last round. Kelly has a good side that will get a percentage booster against the Willies before edging Failed Creation. They could even challenge the mighty Noodles.

6. Blighty Teasdale 34 (Chicken Noodles, kiwi Krappers, Extend the Dukes)
Blighty will cop a loss this week but should win the last two and earn a knock out final against one of Greedy Guns or The B Train.

7. Wiggbros 32 (Brown 25FC , The B Train, Ice Bank Mice Elf)
The Wiggs have blown off the top of the ladder and they will need to win one of Browny and B Train to cement a place in the top eight. They should take care of the spankers but they can prove a difficult opponent at times as well. Jury’s out but I think they finish about 6th.

8. Kiwi Krappers 32 28 ( FOOTYLEDGENS, Blighty Teasdale, The Willies)
The Kiwi lived up to their name last week in what was a poorly timed bout of crap form. On paper they’ve got the LEDGENS covered but the Cubman isn’t done with just yet and I’m liking him to clean up Uncle Brad to leave the door open for the chasing pack. A big win against the Willies will see the Kiwi return to the eight just in time for the finals.

9. Brown 25FC 28 (wiggbros, Greedy Guns, Magpie Mafia)
It’s been a brave recovery from Browny and it was very tempting to put him down for three losses just for the LOLs here. He could just as easily win all three as lose all three but my guestimate is that he wins one of Greedy Guns and Magpie Mafia and that won’t be enough.

10. Greedy Guns 28 (Jimmy Crack Corn, Browny 25FC, The B Train)
The Guns were looking a solid finals chance until a run of poor form put their season on life support. However, all is not lost for the Big Show even though he has an awkward match up against the inform Jimmy Crack Corn. On form this year the Guns beat the top sides and lose to the stragglers so who knows how he will go against two mid table sides. Just outside for mine.

11. The B Train 28 (Ingle Farm Felons, wiggbrosGreedy Guns)
The B Train are another side who are scoring well and it would not surprise to see them win all three and snaffle eighth spot. However, in SuperCoach a lot can go wrong in three weeks so I’m tipping bennymacca drops one and misses out. It won’t be against the Felons though so the B Train will be on track for at least another week.

12. Extend the Dukes 24 ( Ice Bank Mice Elf, FOOTYLEDGENS, Blighty Teasdale)
The Dukes are punching on and staying in the fight and they should stay alive another week by beating the Spankers. After that it gets more difficult with a possible early elimination final against FOOTYLEDGENS and then a tough last round match against Blighty probably keeping them out.

13. Magpie Mafia 24 (Hawkers, Jimmy Crack Corn, Brown 25FC)
At best Ross wins two of these matches which won’t be enough. A gentle lead in with the Hawkers and a posisble win against Browny but I’m not liking the Mafia to be a hit against Jimmy so that means no finals for Roscoe this year.

14. FOOTYLEDGENS 24 ( kiwi Krappers, Extend the Dukes, Ingle Farm Felons)
This little period will either mark the Cub as a finalist or a Division IV side but the reality is that they will finish around 10th or 11th which is about as high as the Cub has gotten in recent weeks. I’m tipping a late run that falls short in an upset result..it’s been that sort of season for FOOTYLEDGENS.
