I had a crack last week with the 'free hit' for Fantasy, went 8 players at $115k and spread the rest amongst a starting 22 that i thought would def play and not get a vest and score well based on their form against the opposition and in the pre season comp. I probably wouldn't have them in my starting side like Craig Bird, Paul Duffield, Nick Malceski, Matt Wright, David Hale (i might have Matt Wright out fo that lot). I stacked my midfield with Ablett, Pendles, Beams, Barlow, Cotchin, Deledio and finished off with Polec and Langdon as an emergency so did well there but fell over with those other selections, should of just done it normally...
My mate did it well and finished 59th for the week with 2358.
So anyway to answer your question yes i have completely changed my side with the free hit and have used round 1 scores to assist.
Really disappointed with fantasy this year, unlimited trades every week and a free hit in round 1... what are they doing? SC is so much more strategic imo, limited trades, gotta pick the right rookies straight up, if not you waste trades... Fantasy will see everyone have similar sides by the half way point of the season again. I probably won't play fantasy next season...

There is another one called I am the real Dream Team which has same points scoring as AFL fantasy but is restricted to 30 trades. The page looks more like supercoach. Give that one ago if like the AFL fantasy system

The technical issues are a different story but the unlimited trades, free hit and different price change mechanism open up different tactics I think. A lot of teams end up the same in Supercoach so I don't think that's a great argument. I agree with Reb on the scoring system though!

Mumford to pocket $140k is looking extremely viable should he score 100+ this weekend- depends if Minson was a once off..
May very well look into replacing a forward rookie also. With limited premiums in my forward line i need players playing to generate cash flow.

I didn't look too hard at Minson or Goldstein in my initial squad. Paying over 600k for a Ruckman is madness. Minson has to do it pretty much alone so he was always going to work his way into a season making him the perfect upgrade target. Having said that though I got Nick Nat and he could very well end up doing the same thing.
