This time last year Delicious was bringing up the rear of the ladder and scrambling from one under par score to the next. This season it is a different story with valleys' boys setting a cracking pace. This week's victim was Mediocre at Best who have been living up to that name for the majority of their Premier League career after being a dominant side in the lower grades. 300 point wins don't come along all that often in Premier so that percentage hit might be hard to overcome for Mediocre when the relegation fight is on.

Ecky didn't really hit the heights this week but did what a good side does and win matches. Premier newcomer Watts & Motts has gotten off to an excellent start on his first attempt in the top flight and so has the Sharks after many seasons in the bottom six in this league. Spiro's boys have been pretty consistent and if they can maintain that a finals berth could be on the cards.

FISH appears to be back in town as is Q after good wins but a few teams have a few worries already. The REBCats copped a heavy hit to thier percentage after being thrashed by Inner Sanctum and another of last year's top four, the Roosters are also struggling to score. Poon got back to his usual scoring patterns with a subpar performance while Richo collected a first up win with a certain amount of relief, even if he is stressing about not chucking Warner in his side.

As usual could do with a win, I haven't looked yet but I'm probably playing Delicious ffs.

Delicious is off to a cracking start in this year’s Hogg Premier competition with Georgie Boy the latest victim of valleys. Defending premier Ecky is not ready to relinquish his crown though and they remained unbeaten after a ninety point win over the FISHman. While the other newly promoted sides aren’t having much of an impact that doesn’t apply to Watts & Motts who are travelling just nicely thank you very much and they too are unbeaten. Q has been scoring very well so far this season but didn’t have the biggest day out last week but did enough to get the chocolates against Poon who slipped out of the eight on the back of his second loss of the season.

A couple of struggling sides managed to open their account last week to get their seasons up and running. Most impressive of these was Mediocre at Best who topped the league in scoring this week with a fine win over a dead stiff Wycbloods who had to cop the L despite scoring 2217 points for the round. It’s a tough old life in Premier Marcus! The Roosters have been more like feather dusters this season but this week they brushed up on their game to record a big win over struggling Hippy who has yet to get with the program in season 2021. REBCats were another team that went deep into the finals last year that finally got rid of the Burger Ring in the W column as they gratefully collected the points from a very wobbly Hondo who had an absolute Barry Crocker.

Other teams to collect important wins were experienced teams Captain Who? and Richo Richo who both clambered into the top eight. The Sharks’ winning run came an end while Inner Sanctum were dead stiff to lose by four points. I’m not sure if scaling had anything to do with that one but I can say from experience that is THE worst way to lose. So it’s Delicious and the reigning premier leading the way with most sides off and running for the year. Hippy is looking decidedly shaky and Summer of George appears to be heading for a fall at this early stage. Has Been is also in need of a win or it could be a case of just that when the next Premier season rolls along.

Forget to name a fwd emergency.

Don't pick up Waterman's omission.

Close results were the order of the day and it doesn't get much closer than a draw. The first draw in the Hogg this season was between Q and Delicious with valleys forgetting about Waterboy as you read above. With injuries and late team lists and subs and other acts of Dog you have to be on your game all the time, especially at Premier League level. Two points to Q but at least valleys got a slice of the spoils and both of these sides are unbeaten and in the top four. Another close clash was the return of Hondo to the winner's list as they fell over the line by ten points as they got the points against the Captain who fell out of the top eight as the result of the narrow loss.

The Premier League is usually a very evenly run race but this year we have four unbeaten sides which is a little unusual at this level four weeks into the season. Ecky's premiership defence looks to be well and truly on track after they trounced a suspect Poon while newcomer Watts has had a great start to their Premier career with four straight victories. Summer of George broke his premier league duck with a narrow win over Wycbloods although relegation fancies Hips Don't Lie and Has Been remained with the burger ring in the w column for another week.

Sharks managed to get back onto the winners list as they seek their first ever Premier League finals spot and Inner Sanctum and REBCats both moved into the top eight with the Richo being the other side to join the Captain on the outs list. Scoring wise the league is tracking quite nicely even though there were no real massive scores but only Poon really spudded it this week so he'll be looking to turn it around next week or face more scorching ridicule next week.

Well boyos what a shit week in SuperCoach that was. With more wheels falling off than the world rally championship low scores were the order of the round but unfortunately not in the Premier League. Only two teams really missed out with the majority of the league managing to pass 2000 for the week. I cannot properly express how much absolute hatred I have for Zilliams right now, a player so keen to impress for his new club that he is missing games due to soreness after playing four of the first six matches (ffs). Um, anyway, hats off to Ecky who smashed the Chooks in the Grand Final Replay and they are looking a very good back to back chance right about now.

Right after Ecky are the Siamese twins, Q Before You and Delicious who also remain unbeaten. Delicious made a light snack out of Poon who dropped into the relegation zone while Q defeated what has to be the unluckiest team in the entire Hogg, @Wycbloods. Bloods has a ridiculous 10907 against which means statistically, he has played Inner Sanctum every week. Man that is harsh. If anyone has the right to say FUSC, then it's bloods. Once again he was scored heavily against and a losing score of 2080 this week is more than a bit rude.

There are a few sides on the move after slow starts and they include Hondo who took the REBCats' spot in the top eight and Summer of George who ended Watts' unbeaten start to the season in the battle of the promoted sides. Mediocre got the Zilliams gift in our game (he probably would have got me tbh but i'll get salty anyway) and well done to Has Been who opened their account at the Captain's expense. Meanwhile, FISH and Inner Sanctum rolled on to another week while Richo Richo and the Captain continued to stumble. Bottom side Hips Don't Lie put in one of their best efforts for the year but were no match for a red hot Inner Sanctum.

The league rank is heading north on a weekly basis now so a pretty good effort from most coaches in what was a very tough week in SuperCoach.

Well after Bonts heroics and Walsh spudding I just need 160 from Daniher and Brayshaw to win.

With Brayshaw on 25 half way through the third quarter it ain't looking likely

EDIT: Ended up winning by two points after a big last quarter from Brayshaw and Daniher

Came 3rd overall this round, missed the weekly prize by 6 points.

Brought in Whitfield with my last trade, was also considering Daniel, if I had gone that way would have won my first weekly prize since 2002.
Won an Afl dreamteam round back then.

$1000 cash plus another $1000 if you subscribe to Adelaidenow. Better than in 2002 when all I got was a t-shirt and a football.

The highlight in the Premier League this week was a the stunning performance of reigning premier Ecky's Fevolas who racked up a massive 2483 against the unlucky Sharks who did not deserve to be flogged by nearly 350 points. Other matches were a tad closer: Captain Who managed to sneak back into the top eight after a one point victory over Mediocre at Best who remain marooned in the wrong half the table after a low scoring match. FISH was another winner in a real squeaker as they got over the line by two points against fellow top four contenders Inner Sanctum. How you win those I'm not really sure as I think I've been on the wrong end of more than a few under ten point results.

The big match this week was between Watts and Q with Watts & Motts ending Q's unbeaten run. Watts has been in fine form so far this season and for now, Q is his biggest scalp. With Q getting done and FISH sneaking over the line the FISH swam into the top four with Q on the outer which is a bit rude when you've only lost one match of six! It's a tough old school at the top.

If anyone has the right to be salty this season, it's Wycbloods. Once again bloods got a decent score and once again they got rolled. That massive scores against figure got even more points pumped into it by a super-consistent Delicious who appear to be the main threat to Ecky's efforts to go back to back. Hondo and Summer of George are on the way up with REBCats and Sharks going the other way. REBCats thinking the same as Carlton about now 'why did we recruit Zilliams?' is the cry.

Poon finally got off his arse and won a game but he's a bit too chirpy on messenger after bagging a regulation win over the battling Roosters. Last placed Hips Don't Lie has upped his scoring but not by enough to open his account with Hippy's losses really starting to tally up now. I can't have Wycbloods as a relegation chance but brother Richo Richo could well be as Richo is really struggling to score. For the title there are a number of obvious contenders but Ecky is on absolute fire at the moment and it might be hard for us all to stop him going back to back.

Would be great if Ecky joined the Hogg Group on SC site, he would be the no1 in the hogg, would be great to track his progress, he's currently 641 overall. And anybody else in this league that hasnt joined as yet

You can lead a horse to water etc etc...I do believe we have the majority of the teams in. Plus a few that aren't in any leagues.

Sorry, never got around to joining that one, I'm in now.

A few comments about my performance this year

1) I have been very lucky so far with injuries - never had Dangerfield, Martin, Neale, Rowell, Ridley. Only premiums/sub-premiums who I've had that got injured were Dunkley (who more than did his job) and Duggan.

2) I've been much more aggressive in trading this year, aiming to upgrade to a complete team as early as possible. Thought this was the best chance to win something even if my team is stuffed by the end of the year. So still a chance for the rest of you to win the Hogg Premier!

3) Not everything has gone right for me - I traded Daniher to Mitchell on a week that Daniher outscored Mitchell by 50 points and I've missed out on a heap of cash Daniher has made since then. I also started with a few duds like Dow and Tyson and missed the Taylor Walker train.

This week the plan for now is to upgrade Powell to Josh Kelly which means I'm sort of 3 premos away from a complete team (depending on how you classify a few players like Cripps  )
