17 Magpie Mafia 2 8 19984 20579 97.11 8
18 Hawkers 2 8 19017 20767 91.57 8

This league has some of the best teams in the Hogg from last year but at the moment Division I is all about Porter Guns and Petracca's Picnic who just keep on getting the job done every week. Both of these sides are quite advanced and Billy the coach of Porter Guns puts in an insane amount of preparation into his supercoaching each week. Anyone who forgets to do anything then Billy will pounce! The Cub has never been a gun SuperCoach but like his team Melbourne, 2021 could be their year. Early on Cub went with ROB and Gawn in ruck and would have traded out ROB when he wasn't scoring but could not do so due to other issues. Ever since then ROB has been a pretty consistent scorer which has allowed Cub to upgrade in other areas. It's nice when a plan comes together but sadly i would not know.

While Porters were kicking the bucket and Petracca was having a picnic at farcallers' expense, Jays Jocks have lifted from a lowly position on the ladder to sneak up into third spot on the ladder. Jays solid win over MAFIA has seen the Maggies fall back into the relegation zone after the Cowpokes won the crucial relegation class with battling Hawkers who went pretty close to securing their third win of the season.

So some of the glamour teams of this league are suddenly sliding down the ladder a bit. Buckets, Far Callers, DAISY have slipped into the middle of the ladder while a few unexpected teams have gone by them this season. There are future challengers coming as well. Cobras have gone from complete nuffys to a scoring machine in recent weeks and they have quite a solid side after a midprice strategy worked for them in the early rounds. Pool Swimmers aren't going anywhere either but wouldn't mind finding a bit of consistency.

As mentioned Hawkers got done by Cowpokes in what really was a must win for them. They are going to find it hard to stay up from here even though they aren't that far behind on the Win/Loss count. Cowpokes improved form and a narrow loss for Magpie Mafia have seen them fall back into the relegation zone and his mate CROWMAG is also in the picture after they dropped to 16th last week.

18 Hawkers 2 9 20838 22694 91.82 8

After the second round of the byes Division I tightened up a fair bit with plenty of teams in the middle of the ladder showing they aren't done with quite yet. The top two sides had cleared out by three games after last round but that gap was cut to two matches this week as the Picnic was taught a lesson by the Professor and the TigerRoos caught the Porters on the hop. Two inform sides slugged it out in Adelaide Crows and jays Jocks but it was Jay who was crowing in the end and they are now the inform team of the competition after overcoming a tardy start to the season.

DAISY, Coro Crocs and Far Callers all got one back after copping recent losses with the Coro Crocs in the best spot out of those three with seven wins after eleven rounds. There was a bit of a fightback from teams that you would consider battlers with Willies showing something that resembled last year's form and big scoring wins to the Cowpokes and the Cobras who have a pretty decent side even though the ladder says he's not much to worry about. The Snakes will have plenty to say before this premiership is decided.

The bottom three sides have been cast adrift although last ranked Hawkers appears to have woken from their slumber somewhat but no points. The MAFIA look shot once again after making out like made men a few weeks ago and his mate Crowmagnon has really lost their way. Buckets is not in their esteemed company but wouldn't mind a win either as the wheels have gotten a bit wobbly for them during the bye period.

18 Magpie Mafia 2 10 22765 24002 94.85 8

DAISYS DUDS said 'nuts!' to the Nuclear Bye Round and the in-form Jays Jocks with an impressive smack down of a fellow top four contender in what was a real statement game by DAISY. Meanwhile, the top two sides should both be returning to work after a couple of no shows over the past two bye weeks. Both teams are pretty solid and deserve their lofty ranking in the league but both were vulnerable over the bye period as they have now stumbled to back to back losses.

It was a mighty clash between two of the top scorers in the Hogg as Far Callers renewed acquaintances with old foes Chops Clots on the weekend. Poor old Clots are stiffer than a stale pizza ranked number four in the Hogg but sitting in 11th spot on the league table as Ronnie Burgundy's boys were far too good racking up a 180 point victory. In the race for the eight there were key wins for the likes of Buckets, Cobras who are suddenly relevant again and Pool Swimmers who like the snakes, have performed well over the bye period.

There were a couple of very close matches that could have repercussions on the relegation bunfight that's on the not too distant horizon. Hawkers showed some signs of life last week and broke through for their first win in months as the Hawkers snuck over the line over the Professor by a mere two points....not the first time the Hawks have pinched the points against the Crows this year. Another big win was by the Cowpokes who have found that winning formula just in the right time as they begin to edge their way out of trouble. The pokes' four point win over Crowmagnion might be the result that sends the Magman down with his mate, battling Magpie Mafia. A sensational win by Cowpokes who are fighting a brilliant rearguard action in recent weeks. There is still time for the bottom three to mount a case for survival with five games to go but Cowpokes might have done enough.

The ladder would have to be some sort of record, one game between 3rd and 14th, the AFL cream its pants with something like that

It's tighter than a nun's nasty here in Division I with each loss just so costly in terms of ladder position as we begin our run into the finals. Petracca's Picnic have one hand on the minor premiership after dismissing second ranked Porter Guns as the Porters' wobbly recent run has continued into the post bye period. The Cub didn't rack up a giant score by any means but there is plenty of room for improvement as some of his players underperformed on the day. Not for the first time DAISY was the pick of the week as once again Buckets conceeded a big score. A lot would have to go wrong for DAISY to miss the double chance which he badly needs considering that he has a finals record that would make even Chris Scott blush.

The Far Callers would be breathing a sigh of relief after getting the four points with what was a modest score for this round. A twenty point win over struggling Crowmagnon wasn't all that impressive but much more impressive than a loss to them would have been. Jays Jocks have barely lost a match over the past few months and when they do drop one they usually bounce back pretty quickly and they had a ten point win over the improving Cobras that might be enough to put Dale out of business this season, this comp is that close. Jims TIgerRoos, Willies and Pool Swimmers are all in good form and are challenging strongly for the eight but it's anyone's guess what the inconsistent Adelaide Crows will do on a given week, although their strong scoring this round shows they are good enough to beat anyone.

Spare a thought for Chops Clots who lead the league in scoring by some distance, yet sit a lowly 14th on the ladder only a win above the relegation bunfight. Clots can't buy a win at the minute as they slowly slide down the ladder. I had the Clots as a major chance for the title but they need a win and they need it fast. The SC gods can be cruel! It's a bit harsh on Cowpokes to put them in relegation discussion as I can't see Crowmag or Hawkers winning enough games to overhaul the pokes. I reckon Mafia is shot but it's a real battle between Crowmag and Hawkers to see who joins them. Hawkers have made dodging the drop an artform in recent seasons so I wouldn't want to be Crowmagnion right now.

1) Petraccas Picnic (Coro Crocs10th W, Magpie Mafia 18th W, DAISYSDUDS 3rd L, Buckets 8th W)

REB's cub should get the 2 wins to guarentee a top 4 birth, if he can snag 3 wins and his percentage not take too much of a hit when he plays the DUDS ;) he should have enough petrol in the tank to lift the minor premiership. He will need it as he hasnt been the biggest scorer in the league, coming in 8th overall, he is almost the reverse of Chops Clots who leads the league overall and sits 14th  Magpie Mafia is no push over and the cub wouldnt want to go on picnic that round or he could miss the double chance and such a promising season will turn to pooh.

2)Porter Guns (Hawkers 17 W, Chops Clots 14 W, Crow Magnon 16 W, Adelaide Crows 12 W.

The Guns are always dangerous at this time of the year and on paper they have the easiest draw of anyone and should finish with 4 wins and possibly the minor premiership. My tip for promotion into the big time.

3) DAISYSDUDS (Jims Tigeroos 7 W, Pool Swimmers 6 W, Petraccas Picnic1 W, Hawkers 17 W.

The DUDS, dont have the easiest draw and could easily miss the 4 or the 8, but has been blessed by the Tigeroos carrying a couple donuts this week if he doesnt have trades left to correct them. Given even luck, the DUDS should win their remaining 4 and snaflle 3rd place and the double chance. If the top 2 falter in a game they should win the DUDS will come from the c louds to claim the Minor Premeirship, like Port of the 00's this is standard for the DUDS the test comes in the last 4 weeks of the year. This is the DUDS year and he will launch into the Premier league for the 1st time and probably be the 1st team to win it in his 1st season ;) But for now the DUDS are taking it one week at a time.

4) The Far Callers (Adelaide Crows 12 L, Cobras 13 L, Cowpokes 15 W, Jays Jocks 5 W.

The Far Callers are doing enough to hold their position in the 8 but not sure they can challenge for a top 4 spot but they will be awaiting their opportunity should anyone in the top 4 lose form. The next 2 weeks are season defining, winnable games but i fear they will be on the wrong side the ledger with Adelaide Crows my tip to come from no where and make the top 4.

5)Jays Jocks ( Buckets 8 L, Cowpokes 15 L, Jims Tigeroos 7 W, The Far Callers 4 L.

Another team who's position on the ladder is quite flattering compared to their 10th overall in points, they will need to win one game possibly 2 to hang on to their spot in the finals, it should come against Jims Tigeroos.

6)Pool Swimmers (Magpie Mafia 18 W, DAISYSDUDS 3 L, Buckets 8 W, Jims Tigerroos 7 W.

The Swimmers will play finals and has a season defining match against the DUDS next week, a win will open up a top 4 position

7)Jims Tigeroos ( DAISYSDUDS 3 L, Buckets 8 L, Jays Jocks 5 L, Pool Swimmers 6 L.

Been hit by the loss of both Williams and Docherty as well as Madden for this week, fielding 2 donuts in defence. If the trade cupboard is bare, Jim is in for a world of pain and he may have already tasted success for the last time this year.

8) Buckets ( Jays Jocks 8 W, Jims Tigeroos 7 W, Pool Swimmers 6 L, Petraccas Picnic 1 L.

2 season defining games in the next 2 weeks, should get the W this week with Jay carrying Williams and a donut in defence. This could be offset by a late Neale withdrawal for Buckets. I think buckets will be the Richmond of a by gone era and finish 9th.

9)Willies ( Chops Clots 14 L, Crow Magnon 16 L, Adelaide Crows 12 L, Cobras 13 L.

The willies appear to have an easy draw on paper but these games arent played on paper and the predictor has them falling in a massive hole against 4 teams who are all currently below them on the ladder. Two of these teams i think will really catch fire over the last 4 weeks making the assignment too much for a flaccid Willie.

10)Coro Crocs ( Petraccas Picnic 1 L, Hawkers 17 W, Chops Clots 14 L, Crow Magnon 16 W.

The Crocs will finish LWLW summing up their season and just miss the 8

11)Professor Crow (Crow Magnon 16 W, Adelaide Crows 12 L, Cobras 13 L, Cowpokes 15 W.

Much like the Crows the Professor has had some good wins this year showing a bit of promise, he also faces the two teams finishing with a wet sail and will have the summer to contemplate what went wrong.

12)Adelaide Crows (The Far callers 4 W, Professor Crow 11 W, Willies 9 W, Porter Guns 2 W.

This is the team no one wants to face in the run home, i see 4 victories and an unlikely spot in the top 4, can you believe that, the top 4 from 12th with 4 weeks to go, an incredibly close competition is the 2nd tier this year and if he does sneak into the top 4, REBs cub might be better off relinguishing the minor premeirship. My roughie for promotion and ill be hoping like hell i dont meet him until the big one. Not bad for a team still ranked 16th in total points. The only question will be how many trades have the Crows had to burn to keep pace with the pack

13)Cobras (Cowpokes 15 W, The Far Callers 4 W, Professor Crow 11 W, Willies 9 W.

This is the other team that will make an enormous leap over the last 4 rounds and finish in 7th from their current 13th. Will win every game and may do ebnough to finish as high as 5th, top 4 is out of reach.

14) Chops Clots (Willies 9 W, Porter Guns 2 L, Coro Crocs 10 W, Magpie Mafia 18 L.

The horror story of the 2021 season, almost as though the Clots have had the Astra Zenica vax, could quite easily win the last 4, the highest scoring team in the league has been dealt a shit sandwich more than once this year. 4 times he has been the 2nd highest scoring team of the round and lost  His season will be best summed up when he meets the 18th ranked team in the last game of the season and loses!! Now of course i could be wrong and Chop gets the blood flowing again, wins all 4 and sneaks into the 8. There is two schools of thought here, has the Clots used trades in a desperate attempt to snag some wins and stay in touch with the 8 or because of his high scoring has he been able to conserve trades?

15) Cowpokes (Cobras 13 L, Jays Jocks 5 W, The Far Callers 4 L, Professor Crow 11 L.

Will do enough to avoid relegation

16)Crow Magnon( Professor Crow 11 L, The Willies 9 W, Porter Guns 2 L, Coro Crocs 10 L.

This Crow team will possibly need to win one to avoid relegation, might not be a bad thing if this team gets relegated, way too many Crow names in here for my liking.

17) Hawkers( Porter Guns 2 L, Coro Crocs 10 L, Magpie Mafia 18 L, DAISYSDUDS 3 L.

Much like their name sake in the real stuff they are in the running for the wooden spoon and will take it.

18) Magpie Mafia (Pool Swimmers 6 L, Petraccas Picnic 1 L, Hawkers 17 W, Chops Clots 14 W.

The Mafia are not the worst 18th team ive ever seen and with some luck could pull off a couple victories and survive for another year in this division

2)Porter Guns (Hawkers 17 W, Chops Clots 14 W, Crow Magnon 16 W, Adelaide Crows 12 L.

It was a massive week in scoring in SuperCoach this round but apparently the blokes in this league didn't get the memo. Overall the scores were a bit down compared to what is generally considered to be a par score. You can't point the finger at Adelaide Crows though. DAISY's smokey racked up 2416 which was good enough for the Crows to get the win against an equally impressive Far Callers with a spot in the eight as a reward. Top side Petracca also scored 2400 as they sunk the Coro Crocs to retain outright leadership on the premiership table.

Don't look now lads but the Clots are back. After a mystifying run of losses, Chops Clots hit back this week with a fine win over the Willies. This win might just be in the nick of time for the Clots and all top four sides will be hoping they don't make it I think. Wins by Bucks, Clots, and Adelaide Crows has seen the TigerRoos drop from the 8 all the way down to eleventh after getting beat up by DAISY. The relegation battle took a decisive turn this week as Crowmagnon managed to get a win on the board in a win which might see Hawkers and Mafia be the teams to drop through the trap door.

Looking at Daisy's predictions I respectfully disagree. We all know that when the finals come it all ends in tears for DAISY and so it will again. I think Petracca is a much better team than Porter Guns and if the Clots get on a role those two sides will be playing off in the Grand Final.

With Cub's Picnic and Porter Guns continuing on with their consistent form, the focus is now on who joins them in the top four which is a legup to promotion to the Premier League next season. DAISY has looked like he has had the inside running for the past few months but that is suddenly in jeopardy as 4th ranked Pool Swimmers got the chocolates in a 68 point victory which has thrown the gates wide open. All of a sudden DAISY has lots of company. Not only are the Swimmers sailing with the tide, Far Callers, Buckets and Jays Jocks all got on the winners list to make things all of a sudden a lot more crowded up there in third spot. It will be interesting to see if young DAISY can hang on to that double chance that looked like his for the taking a few weeks ago.

This league is so close and it is far too early to be putting a line through most sides but there appears to be just the one spot up for grabs in the eight with as many as six sides in a position to take advantage. I have to say my faith in Chops Clots has been badly shaken after their defeat this week. The league's top scorer shook off a lengthy losing run in round 14 but they've thrown it all away with a bad defeat to Porter Guns in a match that Clots just had to win. It's going to be tough now for the Clots to rise to the top. DAISY's roughie Adelaide Crows continue to be the most mystifying team in this league. Adelaide Crows is a bit like the Giants, they can beat or lose to anyone or so it seems. This means even if they make the eight it will probably only a one week stay. Professor Crow and Coro Crocs were two teams on the upswing while the Crows and Clots went the other way and need to turn it around with a win this week.

While the race for honors is well and truly on, the relegation slots have been filled folks so no need for any further applications as Hawkers and Magpie Mafia are GAWN with a capital Max. The Mafia's record at this level is very poor which is surprising given how well they played to get into Division I but their time has past and it's divvy II for Ross next year. The Hawkers have been fighting the good fight for a couple of seasons and they always looked a likely relegation chance and that has now come to pass.

13)Cobras (Cowpokes 15 W,The Far Callers 4 W, Professor Crow 11 W, Willies 9 W.

Minor premier or as i like to call it, the Poisoned Chalice- Petraccas Picnic

Premier- DAISYDUDS its time
Runner Up- Porter Guns

Roughy- Adelaide Crows
[/quote]

The tipping was very askew this week resulting in many changes to the end of season Ladder predictor.
I might have to reassess the predictor.
DAISY is gone, has both Langford and Whitfield, handing the Cub the minor premiership this week and losing his top 4 position.

Top team Petracca’s Picnic pulled a major clanger on Thursday night by trading in the underwhelming Banfield who froze his nuts off in the Freo forward line as Geelong basically shut them out of the match. After Banfield got 17 Cub was up against it for the rest of the round and even though DAISY also had his issues, he got the chocolates and has probably secured the double chance as a result. Now, will you stop whining about how you are cooked FFS?

No such problem for Porters though as he has steadied in recent weeks as they made light work out of CROWMAGNION. The Far Callers are always a threat at this time of year and they are at it again by cleaning up the lowly Cowpokes and protecting their top four position on the ladder despite another big win by Buckets. The Jocks have been pretty good for most of the year and they should qualify from here but it’s a bit of a lottery for the last couple of spots in the eight.

Chops Clots got rolling again but it may be too little too late and Adelaide Crows are also hovering. Not sure the Crocs have the percentage to snap up a finals place and it’s the end of the penny section for the Cobras who dropped out of contention after getting cleaned up by Professor Crow. There are going to be some good sides watching on next month.

Round 17 Preview

Fixture – Tips in bold.
Jays Jocks vs. The Far Callers
Pool Swimmers vs. Jim’s TigerRoos
Professor Crow vs. Cowpokes
Petracca’s Picnic vs. Buckets
Willies vs. Cobras
Hawkers vs. DAISYSDUDS
Porter Guns vs. Adelaide Crows
Chops Clots vs. Magpie Mafia
Coro Crocs vs. Crowmagnon

Preview
The overall carnage that has hit the last couple of weeks in SuperCoach seems to have hit particularly hard in this division. The big match here is between Jays Jocks and the Far Callers with Ron Burgundy having to win this match in order to secure the double chance for the finals. Looking at the teams it is almost impossible to pick a winner in this one and even the predictor says there is nothing in it with a two point margin on display. I reckon the Far Callers grow a leg at this time of the season and now its time to shine so Ronny gets the win in a nailbiter.

Highly rated teams such as league top scorer Chops Clots, Buckets and Porter Guns all look hard hit by injury this week. I reckon Porter Guns and Buckets get done but I find it very difficult to believe that Chops Clots doesn’t have the trades to eliminate his donuts and prove the predictor wrong against battling Magpie Mafia. Unfortunately for the likes of Clots, Coro Crocs and Adelaide Crows, there appears to be no room left at the inn as I think Professor Crow and Pool Swimmers will both get the job done and secure their finals places.

The relegation spots were decided a couple of weeks ago so there is nothing to report there so I’m predicting some funky results this week that won’t really change anything all that much. For the much vaunted promotion spots, it will be hard to look past Picnic and the Guns as these two sides have been the most consistent all year. Don’t mind The Far Callers’ chances as they have a proven finals record but won’t be backing DAISY as his finals record is Chris Scottlike.

REB's Top Eight
1. Petracca’s Picnic
2. Porter Guns
3. DAISYSDUDS
4. The Far Callers
5. Pool Swimmers
6. Buckets
7. Jays Jocks
8. Professor Crow

Evenin’ gents. Have a good one.

18 Hawkers 3 14 32950 35420 93.03 12

The enigmatic Adelaide Crows managed to bag the upset against second ranked Porter Guns but it was all to no avail as they finished just outside the eight. Porters have been a bit iffy in the run in and appeared vulnerable and so it was as the Crows cleaned up the premiership contenders. Top side Petracca's Picnic duly cleaned up Buckets even though Cub was one of the foolish coaches who hooked themselves up to the Parish train. Well, a lesson learnt there boyos and it would be a brave coach indeed who would plonk the C on Parish next month.

The biggest winner of the round was Jays Jocks who snaffled a spot in the top four at the eleventh hour. In a finals preview, Jays got the drop on The Far Callers and now the Callers have a tough road ahead to qualify for the Premier League next season. DAISY was pretty unimpressive but held on over battlers Hawkers and Chops Clots frustrating season came to a predictably frustrating close as they were spanked by relegated Magpie Mafia.

I reckon whoever wins out of Jays and Petracca in next week's final takes the flag. Jays have come from nowhere really to be a genuine premiership threat but Cub hasn't done much wrong this season. The winner of that final is well placed as Porters and DAISY don't inspire a lot of confidence and recent form shows Far Callers are vulnerable. Buckets will bounce back but faces a tough knockout final and Callers should be too strong for the Professor but I reckon I've been writing them off all year and here we are and they are still looking strong.

Should be a cracking finals series with the team with the best finals record dropping their bundle to lose the double chance this round. All to play for literally this week with Premier League only a few wins away.

Lovely work REB with the updates this year as per usual.

Disaster year for my clots, most points for the year & finish 11th, absolute stich up. Will be watching on for the last 4 weeks & trying to move up the Hogg Rankings.

Good luck to those who made it.

Yes thanks REB great write ups, I am still making the same mistakes but enjoying the competition. I can now barrack for the Jocks who is an ex work mate to take out the Hogg he generally does well come the end of the season.

Finals Week One

Qualifying Finals
Jays Jocks 2512
Petracca's Picnic 2415

DAISYSDUDS 2659
Porter Guns 2586

Elimination Finals
Pool Swimmers 2559
Buckets 2498

The Far Callers 2498
Professor Crow 2338

A few weeks ago DAISY declared 'it's time' which a big call considering his finals record over the years. However, he has walked the walk to back up the talk this season with an emphatic (to steal his words) win over an impressive Porter Guns in a high quality Qualifying Final. DAISY had all the answers and they now have one foot in the Premier League, a goal of this team for the past five years. It must be so close he can taste it. With that scoring power, it would be silly to bet against him. In the other Quallie in form Jays Jocks got the job done against Petracca's Picnic who all of a sudden look a player short to advance to the next stage. While there is still life there is hope for Cub but it's opportunity lost as they now have to get by DAISY to make the Grand Final. Not sure he has the troops.

In the knockout games Pool Swimmers were very impressive in their win over Buckets who also came to play on the weekend. Buckets a bit stiff to score nearly 2500 points and be a week one casualty but such is the quality of this field. Pool Swimmers would like their chances against the Cub next week I think. The Far Callers, fresh off a premiership last season have continued with their run of finals success with a big win over Professor Crow who was the least impressive of the finalists. Next week the Callers face Porter Guns in what should be a ripping a semi final clash with the loser most unlucky to be eliminated as well as falling short of promotion to the premier league.

Semi Finals
Petracca's Picnic vs. Pool Swimmers
Porter Guns vs. The Far Callers

Semi Finals

1st Semi Final
Pool Swimmers 2342
Petracca's Picnic 2124

2nd Semi Final
The Far Callers 2358
Porter Guns 2001

It was a finals disaster for my lad and my uncle this week in Division I as both tumbled out of the finals in straight sets. Petracca's Picnic have had their best ever season of supercoach and had surprised with their level of consistency. Winning the minor premiership was not in the script for the Cub who was literally the 18th team admitted to the league after about thirty offers were made overall. Once in though, they made every post a winner but pulled an absolute Glenelg to drop both finals. The turning point for Petracca appeared to be the mystifying selection of Freo plodder Bailey Banfield. It was pretty much all downhill for the Cub after that. Pool Swimmers for their part, have been steadily gaining in strength and it's obvious the more talented coach has been timing his run nicely. It was a comfortable win for Pooley and he will be a tough opponent for DAISY next week.

My Uncle Bill was another family member to come unstuck this week. Billy's focus is not this Divvy I title but our family Piglet Shield league so unfortunately for me, he elected not to burn any trades as this round was pretty much a write off for Porter Guns even before the match began as the Guns rolled out an absolute bakery. Even if he had traded I'm not sure he could have matched Far Callers' impressive scoring. If only Callers had stumbled a bit and coaxed Jasper to burn a trade but Burgundy was too good and Porter Guns remains the favourite to win the Piglet title.

So a disappointing finals series for the two sides who have been one and two all year but now four well coached teams are left in the hunt for a flag and a place in the premier league. DAISY has had an excellent Hogg career and on sheer persistence and consistency deserves his spot on that alone. However, the DUDS have one more match to win, and it's against a team with Premier League experience which means Pooley has been there and done that before. It should be an absolute cracker next week. The Far Callers have been sensational on their return to the Hogg Shield and they are aiming for three straight flags which I don't think has happened in the Hogg before..would have to check the honour board for that one (Summer of George rings a bell here). Jays Jocks have been brilliant for months but if there is one team I would not like to face in August, it would be The Far Callers. I reckon it might be DAISY and Far Callers who go through, although in the words of Tuco, the DAISY v Pooley game will be tight tight tight!

Preliminary Finals
Jays Jocks vs. The Far Callers
Pool Swimmers vs. DAISYSDUDS

Preliminary Finals

1st Preliminary Final
The Far Callers 2256
Jays Jocks 2161

2nd Preliminary Final
DAISYSDUDS 2272
Pool Swimmers 2254

The favourites saluted in the Preliminary Finals but DAISY had some nervous moments as what he craved was almost taken away by a plucky Pool Swimmers combination who was hell bent on returning to the top flight. It must have been a nervous Sunday for DAISY who must have felt so close but so far in his lengthy quest to be a Hogg Premier League coach. Next year he will test himself against the best in the Hogg as he makes his debut in the top flight. The Far Callers had a more comfortable win over an impressive Jays Jocks although all teams were down on scoring in what was a second pretty rough week of SuperCoach finals with carnage galore. Sometimes carnage can unseat the favourites but not in this instance as Far Callers marched on in their quest for a third straight Hogg flag. Congratulations to both coaches on qualifying for Hogg Premier next season.

Grand Final

DAISYSDUDS vs. The Far Callers

DAISY outscored the callers last week but I reckon Ron Burgundy might have the higher ceiling and he certainly has the runs on the board when it comes to winning premierships. Its going to be a cracking grand final but the Duds are on the turps already (see the Premier thread) while the Far Callers have a history of getting the job done in big matches. While DAISY has improved in this area, the Callers get the nod from me.
