Agreed, twinkle toes's a bench warmer for a good side at best.

Galekovic would be a loss and a much sought after player if he was to intend on going elsewhere and who would blame him?

Spot on comments from the captain today, but it was what he didn't say about Valkanis that came through the loudest.

Good on Eugene for giving club management a blast.
About time someone stood up to Griffen and his cronies.
Really wish he would of given Valkanis a spray aswell.
Kossie was a loose cannon but he was spot on about McKain and no coincidence our form was better when that dud wasnt in the side.

This was posted on the Football Australia website before being quickly pulled down:

http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/ade ... rman/64886

"Adelaide United FC rejects the calls made by John Kosmina for the resignation of Glenn Elliott and Michael Petrillo. Were it not for the capabilities of each of Petrillo and Elliott the Club would not have achieved what it did under the stewardship of Kosmina.

It was Petrillo who sourced and recruited in this period both Marcelo Carrusca and Jeronimo Neumann. After the resignation of Kosmina, Petrillo signed the talented Tomi Juric. Petrillo is the best judge of talented footballers operating in the Hyundai A-League. It is common knowledge that Kosmina has personal animosity towards Petrillo. Despite that animosity Petrillo worked tirelessly to bring the best players to Adelaide United.

Kosmina had very different views about the playing list from Elliott and Petrillo. The attempted signing by Kosmina of a bogus player who was a Miami disc jockey caused the Club great embarassment. We had to direct Kosmina to stay out of recruitment and leave it to Petrillo.

Kosmina without the authority of the Club negotiated in the 2011/12 season the free transfer of Dario Vidosic to Brisbane Roar. That transfer was rejected by the Club. The Club took the position that all player matters be handled by Petrillo at first instance with the final decision made by the entire Football Department. This system has worked very well for the Club. There is no basis for Petrillo to be forced to leave the Club.

Elliott is a trusted and highly competent CEO. Elliott, apart from ensuring the Club raised sufficient funds to remain viable, also on a daily basis dealt with player issues during the time Kosmina was coach. During this period the Club lost some fine players and people simply because Kosmina did not want them. The loss of Sergio van Dijk, Zenon Caravella and Francisco Usucar all came about as a result of player-coach friction. Each of those players would have been very useful on Sunday evening. It is easy for Kosmina, who chose to resign by email, to now criticise those who stayed behind to serve the Club. I invite the media to speak to the players left behind and find out their views on the Kosmina coaching period.

The Club had no intention of making public its side of this story as it prefers to allow these matters to pass without issue. The Club will not however stand back and see loyal and talented staff attacked in the public arena any longer. The attack orchestrated on Michael Valkanis has been the most distasteful. Valkanis is a former Socceroo and Captain of this Club. He stood up when Kosmina walked away. Kosmina was not sacked or pushed, he walked. Were it not for Valkanis the Club would have been without a coach. Whilst the results were not as good as the Club and the fans had hoped for the Club was within reach of forcing extra time on Sunday. That is football and we are all judged on results, not chances. The Club owes Valkanis a debt of gratitude. Regrettably after this latest outburst it owes Kosmina nothing."

Cronulla, essendon - drugs
Melbourne storm - salary cap
Carlton - salary cap
Aust test cricket - homework
Adelaide crows - tippett affair
West coast - cousins, braun and fletcher drugs
St kilda - school girl
Gold coast a league and bball
Nth Qld A league
Titans rental debt.
Manly - brett stewart rape case.

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse ...

http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/adelaide- ... 6617700241

ADELAIDE United's coaching selection committee has quit tonight after Mike Valkanis was appointed Reds assistant coach today.

Former Socceroos Craig Foster, John Perin and Alex Tobin and Reds owner and board member Bruno Marveggio have all walked away from helping Adelaide United select a long-term future coach.

Perin said the panel was disappointed that the club appointed Valkanis before the committee was ready to announce its candidates.

Perin said the committee did not recommend Valkanis as an assistant or head coach.

"It's strange how a club can announce an assistant without announcing their head coach first," Perin said.

"They're putting the cart before the horse and we've decided that we're wasting our time."

Foster also an expert SBS football analyst posted a statement on Facebook.

"Following discussions last week relating to the proposed coach selection process which have not led to a satisfactory resolution," Foster posted.

"I have resigned from the panel.

"I wish the club and fans the very best of endeavours and a successful coming season."

The panel was endorsed by the club in February, less than a week after John Kosmina quit in January.

Absolute disgrace, Valkanis should of been kicked out the club not go back to being assistant.
A new coach would want to bring in his own staff not be told that Valkanis will be his assistant.
We have no chance of securing a decent coach now

Being a Spammer fan you would know all about embarassing clubs ;)
I do agree though that some of AU's antics dont sit well with me.
As I said massive overhaul needed starting at the top.
None of this would have happened had they kept the mighty Zebra's going

My point is most of the above by themselves are worse then the total amount of adelaide screw ups. No mattet what the reds do due to their incompetence, it will never be as bad or embarrassing as deliberately cheating, covering up drug cheats/ users or being kicked out of a competition.
