Only managed to beat Hong Kong 1-0 in their opening game thanks to an 85th minute goal from Emerton.

Much better start in this game though.

Drew 1-1 with Nth Korea.
Uphill battle to qualify now, need to pile on the goals in the two remaining fixtures and hope our GD is better than the Koreans

Wow really shows where the standard of the A-League is when we can't beat North Korea and only scrape pass HK!

To be fair Nth Korea made the last WC and were at full strength.
But yes that was disgraceful against HK, should win by 5-6 atleast against sides like that.
Pitch is a disgrace and there are plenty of amateur clubs in Adelaide that play on better surfaces

Playing with 6 defenders is overkill unless you're playing against Spain. No wonder we're not scoring many goals.

It's no shame in drawing with North Korea with the squad we put out there but beating Hong Kong 1-0 is poor. North Korea have been destroying the other teams.

Do the top two make the final? How does this work?

Also why are we participating yet Japan and South Korea aren't? I didn't even know this tournament existed until I noticed it when look at a few bets. Seems like a pointless tournament to me.

The Finals will be in South Korea next July.
South Korea, Japan and China are automatic qualifiers.
We are playing in the qualifying group, only top side goes through.
Would give our guys great experience to play Japan or South Korea in the finals but unless we hammer Guam and Taiwan we are screwed. North Korea have played 1 more game but have a +10 GD

Why did China get automatic qualification ahead of us?

We have no hope then, North Korea are pumping teams and we could only just beat HK. I can't see us suddenly doing an America Samoa to Guam and co.

Finished 9-0
27-1 Shots on goal.
Australia and North Korea both have a GD of +10 but Nth Korea top by virtue of having scored more goals.
We are in the box seat now, Nth Korea have Hong Kong in their last game who look the strongest of the minnows, Australia play Chinese Taipei a few hours later knowing what we need to do
