Further evidence of why games shouldnt be played at sub standard grounds. Would rather a decent game infront of 1000 people than see that crap dished up. Totally unsuitable for soccer, hopefully thats the last time they play there.

Adelaide Oval holds a lot of moisture in the grass coupled with a hard surface sees a lot of passes either skid on or just plain bounce too high.

Well they chose to flood the ground before the match and at half time.

Couldn't agree more, don't think I've seen a decent game at AO all due to the surface. Good turnout crowd wise but would've been a better game at Coopers.
Ferreira should've been brought on earlier than when he was, nice goal from Cirio but lacks the pace required to be a winger, Goodwin showed glimpses, Boogard is.... Boogard. Fair result in the end

Sub standard ground?!

For soccer yes.
One of the best surfaces in the world for cricket and probably the best in the country for AFL but it aint a soccer ground. Time to give up on the experiment. Next week at Etihad will see a similar scenerio for the Melbourne Derby, far better to play it at AAMI park. As a fan the experience isnt great either, crowd is far too far away from the pitch which negates the crowd factor.
Tonights game would of packed Hindmarsh and the atmosphere would of been electric and the standard of the game far better

Agree especially about the crowd, you're too far away when watching a game at Adelaide Oval that is why I much prefer Hindmash, atmosphere is definitely better there IMO because the crowd is closer to the action.

J agree about the standard of football at Adelaide Oval, never seen a quality game there. That said, the club always comes under fire for their lack of recruiting/spending yet when they do something like this, something which earns extra $ we barrel them for it. Hard for them to win.

Yep which makes it even harder because the ball is always running towards the sidelines, or through balls just run on towards the keepers.

That's fair enough and they will get a good bit of coin for that one match, but how many neutrals now wont go back and watch again because of the standard of the one game they saw. Also most AU members I know hate AO games because the viewing and atmosphere so the club is also upsetting members for a one off money grab.

I would say as a once off its fine but personally I wouldn't have anymore than 1 a year I would save the game for a match against Perth, CC where the AO novelty factor will mean you will still get 20k there compared to the 5-6k you would get at hindmarsh, so increase you crowd by 400%

Yep good points mate. I don't think they'd lose many supporters from the game, the flip side is they also might have pick some up.
