It's that time again folks - the draw for the last 32 of the FFA Cup for this year has been released:

The all-A-League matches are:

Adelaide United v Central Coast
Perth v Melbourne Victory
Brisbane v Melbourne City

The A-League-local club matches are:

Darwin Hellenic v Western Sydney
Gold Coast Knights v Newcastle United
Bentleigh Greens (Vic.) v Wellington
Rockdale City (NSW) v Sydney

The all-local club matches are:

Northcote City (Vic.) v Devonport Strikers
Port Melbourne v APIA Leichhardt (NSW)
Brisbane Lions v Brisbane Olympic
Heidelberg United (Vic.) v Charlestown City (Nth. NSW)
Gwelup Croatia (WA) v Adelaide Comets
Canberra Croatia v Broadmeadow Magic (Nth. NSW)
Cairns (prev. Far Nth. Qld.) v Armadale (WA)
Bonnyrigg (NSW) v Sydney City
Avondale (Vic.) v Marconi (NSW)

Gold Coast Knights and Gwelup Croatia are both currently playing outside their respective states' top divisions, i.e. in the third tier of Australian soccer. Lucky for Adelaide Comets, they head to Perth to take on Croatia.

It's a shame that Adelaide United have to play another A-League club, but at least it's against the Mariners, and in Adelaide. The Round of 32 will be played in July and August.

Tonight's scores:

Avondale (Vic.) 4-1 Marconi (NSW) - crowd 894
Port Melbourne 0-1 APIA Leichhardt (NSW) - crowd 604
Canberra Croatia 1-4 Broadmeadow Magic (Nth. NSW) - crowd 1,002
Brisbane Lions 3-2 Brisbane Olympic - crowd 1,202
Gwelup Croatia (WA) 0-4 Adelaide Comets - crowd 475
Bonnyrigg (NSW) 1-2 Sydney City - crowd 804

Good to see Comets progress after the long trip, albeit against fairly weak opposition. Adelaide United play next week.

Good first goal by Boland, overhead kick

The scores from tonight's matches:

Rockdale City (NSW) 2-4 Sydney - crowd 4,489
Heidelberg United (Vic.) 2-1 Charlestown City (Nth. NSW) - crowd 773
Cairns 4-0 Armadale (WA) - crowd 821
Adelaide United 3-0 Central Coast - crowd 3,107

Elsey, Boland (on debut) and Goodwin (from a free kick) the scorers for United. Also nearly scored on debut off the bench, but his shot went just wide. Not much to say for Central Coast tonight.

Bentleigh defeat Wellington 1-0 for the sixth 'cupset' in FFA Cup history.

Tonight's results:

Bentleigh (Vic.) 1-0 Wellington - crowd 1,238
Gold Coast Knights 0-1 Newcastle United - crowd 2,222
Brisbane 0-1 Melbourne City (AET) - crowd 6,151
Northcote City (Vic.) 1-3 Devonport City - crowd 425
Darwin Hellenic 3-4 Western Sydney - crowd 3,000
Perth 0-1 Melbourne Victory - crowd 1,754

Some crazy stories tonight, including Wellington being upset by Bentleigh, Darwin Hellenic going extremely close to doing the same against Western Sydney, a Tasmanian side defeating a Victorian side, and the match in Brisbane lasting three hours and ten minutes from kick-off to full time thanks to a stoppage of about forty minutes due to an injury to Luke Brattan in the first half.

The draw for the Round of 16 is as follows:

Melbourne City v Newcastle United
Avondale (Vic.) v Devonport City
Adelaide Comets v Heidelberg United (Vic.)
Broadmeadow (Nth. NSW) v Bentleigh (Vic.)
APIA Leichhardt (NSW) v Melbourne Victory
Brisbane Lions v Adelaide United
Cairns (prev. Far Nth. Qld.) v Sydney
Bonnyrigg (NSW) v Western Sydney

APIA Leichhardt look as though they're about to upset Melbourne Victory in the Round of 16.

Tonight's scores:

Avondale (Vic.) 4-1 Devonport City - crowd 725
Broadmeadow (Nth. NSW) 0-4 Bentleigh (Vic.) - crowd 1,748
APIA Leichhardt (NSW) 3-2 Melbourne Victory - crowd 2,467
Cairns 1-2 Sydney - crowd 3,950

Cairns missed a penalty and probably should have had the better of a Sydney side who are starting very slowly this season.

Adelaide United play on Wednesday 29 August away in Brisbane; on the same night Adelaide Comets are playing at West Beach v Heidelberg United.

Adelaide United were terrible tonight, very lucky to squeeze past Lions tonight courtesy of a Goodwin tap-in following a defensive error. The other South Australian side remaining in the Round of 16, Adelaide Comets, went down at Adelaide Shores.

Melbourne City 1-0 Newcastle United - crowd 3,673
Adelaide Comets 0-4 Heidelberg United (Vic.) - crowd 1,482
Brisbane Lions 0-1 Adelaide United - crowd 1,717
Bonnyrigg (NSW) 1-2 Western Sydney - crowd 5,137

The draw for the quarter finals is:

Melbourne City v Western Sydney
Bentleigh (Vic.) v Heidelberg United (Vic.)
APIA Leichhardt (NSW) v Adelaide United
Avondale (Vic.) v Sydney

United's quarter final is underway. 30 minutes in, no score. Baba just missed a header he should have buried.
