I've always favoured Wollongong for expansion, given their history and the passion for soccer in that region.

Western Melbourne and Macarthur South West given the nod.
Shocking decision, two more heartless franchises in already over flooded markets.
Huge oportunity lost, the A League continues to be a bad joke.

While these bids weren't my favourite, the upside is that at least they'll have a point of difference in terms of the geographical area they represent, unlike Melbourne Heart/City.

What's the bet they expand the finals series to eight teams?

Yeah I tend to agree with you there, especially since one of the sides is playing in a different city for its first 3 years so going to be hard to attract supporters.
There are numerous other clubs that have been given a handshake agreement that they will enter the comp when the two tiered league starts within a couple of years so hopefully a few of them have a bit of substance about them.

Why expand the league with the standard at the level it is at the moment? Surely allowing 2 more sides in is going to lower the standards again and it’s already at a very low level.

Seems crazy to me.

As we have seen with the AFL it’s all about TV rights and exposure
