Just hope he was having an off day as he was well beaten by a league one winger.

Hey Jabber, I would like to now retract this statement. Mears has got better and better, and I can see why he wants premiership football. I shouldn't have doubted Owens ability to find quality players on the cheap.

Caught some of Nottingham Forest's big 3-1 win away to West Brom this morning. One thing, Forest's keeper? Last name Camp? Plays for a team that Robin Hood and his band of "merry" men would've supported???? Am I missing something? Wicky Woo!!!! ;)

IRVINE TAKES WEDNESDAY REINS
Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed the appointment of Alan Irvine as their new manager just 10 days after the Scot was controversially sacked by Championship rivals Preston.

The 51-year-old, who has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract, will take over at Hillsborough from Brian Laws, who parted company with the Owls "by mutual consent" on December 13. Academy coach Sean McAuley had been placed in temporary charge.

Irvine was sacked suddenly from his post as Preston manager after a little over two years in charge at Deepdale and just six months after guiding them to the play-offs.

Good pick up by the Owls imo. Irvine worked wonders at PNE, saving them from almost certain relegation two years ago and then got them to the play off's last year. Even though PNE are safe in the top half of the CCC it seems the powers that be just weren't satisfied. Wednesday will be hoping he can do the same for them.

Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric charged with tax offences over £182,500 payment

Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric has been charged with two counts of cheating the public revenue. The charges stem from his time at Portsmouth and relate to the payment of £182,500 to another person via a bank account in Monaco and evading the tax and national insurance contributions due between April 1, 2002 and November 28, 2007, the Crown Prosecution Service said.

I wonder if the "other peson is Harry Redknapp" ? And if so, what the ramafications would be.

Hart departs QPR Former Pompey boss lasts just five games at Loftus Road

Paul Hart has left Queens Park Rangers by mutual consent after just five games in charge at Loftus Road.

The former Portsmouth boss had been at the QPR helm less than a month after succeeding Jim Magilton, who himself had only been given the reins in the summer.

Hart becomes the sixth full-time manager to leave QPR, a figure that rises to nine if you include caretaker bosses, since Flavio Briatore took over the club in September 2007
