A disappointing move by the club's owners. Dalglish is a club legend, the fans love him and he came pretty close to claiming two trophies this season.

OK, it was a below-par season in the League but it wasn't disastrous and Champions League qualification was probably an unrealistic aim anyway.

I reckon the bosses have already sounded out AVB and will appoint him shortly.

I don't reckon I can share that disappointment, as much as I love him, I reckon the League position was unacceptable,

Results are all that matters and yes he got to the FA Cup Final but who cares about the pissy League Cup?
Most teams play their reserves in the League Cup as its a pretty meaningless competition.
They were miles off the pace in the league and it was their lowest league position in nearly 20 years, probably the most disappointing was their home form, most teams used to fear going to Anfield but this season there were minnows who were actually relishing the chance to go there and quite a few of them came away with points.
Kenny also had a hand in buying most of the duds on their list. His tactics are stuck in the 80's and its time for both parties to move on, club legend or not.

AVB is still the front runner, although Capello appears to be in the frame now.

Maybe it would be prudent to wait and see if Chelsea go with di Matteo.

Frank De Boer was their number 1 target but he has turned it down to stay at Ajax
Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers has also declined the offer, how the mighty have fallen, Rodgers would rather stay with Swansea than go to Liverpool

Pfft .. A very wise decision. If Swansea struggle then he still has currency. If he goes to Liverpool and they continue to struggle, then his currency drops.

A no-brainer for Rodgers as far as Im concerned and he's made the right decision.

Liverpool wouldn't have the funds to attract some of the bigger names in the game, regardless of whether we're in Europa or CL.

Dunno, would be surprised if we were able to afford him though .. If a club with bigger cash reserves came knocking, I can't see we would stand much of a chance.

maybe the challenge might sway him, not the money. Big club like LFC would be a good opp

Dunno about that, in all sports money talks, but particularly so in this game.

LFC are a big club in terms of global support but achievement wise they are only big historically, not in the here and now

There'd be no point in Liverpool getting a manager like Pep Guardiola because their players wouldn't have the skill to carry out his ball-on-the deck, possession based game plan. They'd give the ball away too much.
The squad would have to be completely overhauled and after Dalglish spent £100m in 18 months I doubt the owners would want to fork out that sort of dough again.

IS that you Kenny? Yes the style worked backed then because we had some of the best players in the world. We can no longer afford the elite players.

Who? Is he any good?

Good manager, won a champions league and several league titles at Ajax, took Barca to a couple of league titles, also won the league in Holland with AZ Alkmaar and pretty sure he took Bayern Munich to a champions league final and won a couple of Bundesliga titles with them.
Had an unsucessful stint with the Dutch national side.
Have heard several rumours that he has been offered a director of coaching job not the managers position
