Has there ever been a bigger mass exodus from one club?

Street corner tip that Liverpool are trying to sign Matt Le Tissier also.

Talk about getting busy, Liverpool have now signed Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Emre Can and Lazar Markovic and apparently are awaiting for a response from Divock Origi the Belgium striker after having agreed a fee for him.

They have also had a £20m bid rejected for Dejan Lovren (poor Southampton).

Lovren to Liverpool confirmed now

Agreed
Apparently the new owner is a woman who inherited the club, has never seen a game anywhere let alone the Saints and has no interest in them

He had his medical Thursday at London colony. Glad to see it's finally confirmed. Saints fans reckon he's going to be better then Luke Shaw and that he was a massive bargin for 16m! I'd say he'd start first game against Palace with the German contingent out still. Looking forward to seeing how he goes.

Saints owner is a lady by the name of Katharina Liebherr. She inherited the club from her father, billionaire businessman & entrepreneur Markus Liebherr who died suddenly in Aug 2010. He is seen as a saviour & hero to Saints fans as he bought the club in '09 which took them out of administration. He was a huge part of back to back promotions & returning to the top flight which he unfortunately never got to see.
As for his daughter, she was at every home match that I saw last season.

Yes, it looks like it will only get worse for the Saints. Morgan Schneiderlin and Jay Rodriguez are almost certain to join Pottechino at Spurs. So in total Lallana, Lambert, Shaw, Lovren, Chambers, Schneiderlin and Rodriguez - arguably their best 7 players. Hopefully they can spend some of the $130M and replace some of these guys, but it's looking like a tough year.

Saints chairman has come out and said not one more player will be sold no matter what price is offered

Makes u wonder why they accepted the other transfers if it means they go down

Saints chairman was referring to the sale of Schneiderlin and Rodriguez. They have to sell Dani Osvaldo...and will. He also said they have some signings lined up. Hopefully there is some quality to come in

Ok, I'll bite - they sold them back then to survive. Surely you have some inkling how these things work. Maybe we should have hung on to Alan Shearer too.

Serious question, why do you think the club let so many of its core players go this time

-do they think they have ready made placements
-do they need the cash
-did they have pressure from the players to let them go to bigger clubs or else the players were going to spit the dummy

Lambert ; is a scouser, has been the Saints backbone from league 1 to the top flight. Lifelong dream to play for Liverpool. Were not going to stand in his way to go home - and at his age, not a bad move to move him on for good coin.
Shaw ; England rep, Saints academy since 8 years old, chased by numerous big clubs. Transfer fee inflated because he's English I reckon. Fair enough.
Lallana ; this one hurt the most. Club captain, super star, best still ahead of him - big club attraction factor and $$$?
Lovren ; one year into a four year deal where Saints breached the contract. Was apparently promised to be pushing for Europe, playing with certain players under the manager at the time. Enough said .
Chamberlain ; another Saints prodigy who at 18 had been at the club for 10 years and wanted out. Snow ball effect? Bigger club calling?
Pochettino ; the manager, head hunted by a few clubs. Can't get in their way if they want to go bigger.

$$$$$$ - this talks, we all know that.
Saints' demise may ironically be having to much talent (for the picking ) at the same time.
