Hammers keep that perfect away record intact. Now third in the premier league.

For a short period of time you were 3rd . Never been one to give anything to that scum from the north but their win and ours both took us back above West ham

Now 4th

#-o Sorry, had a quick scan of the scores before bed. Arsenal must've been a late game.

Boy was i getting nervous. Watford held on well until Ngong or someone played for a penalty, Arsenal counted and scored resulting in 3 goals in 11mins.

Had a sneaky feeling about this too and considering we have had the wood over you guys the last few seasons. Had chances early but just did not look potent up front at all..

Am pretty happy with the first 9 games though... to have 13 points and having already played Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool and Tottenham i am pretty happy with that. Got Arsenal this week though so a draw would be a pretty good start from the first 10 games considering the draw we have had.

good win by us after the inter break. We dont fair well normally after inter breaks .

As soon as the first goal went in , it was game over . Watford dropped their heads and looked 10 paces behind the ball

Everton at home up next !

Swansea 0-1 Stoke

3 on the trot for the Potters thanks to a 4th minute penalty won and converted by Bojan and only the second time in history they've won back to back away games in the top flight. Starting to come together after a very shakey start...

Yes, they've snuck up quietly there nuggets. Beat Watford this week and you've cracked the top half of the ladder.

Chadli out for four weeks, the tackle that took him out of the game early (and now for a month on top of that) didn't even get a yellow.

Yeah nah! The goal is Europe and Hughes has built a side which has flair and style but they haven't really gelled yet. Shaqiri has promise but has done nothing yet. Bojan is back and starting to play well and Arnautovic has probably been our best so far.

Defense needs some solidarity to it and once Shawcross comes back in that should change.

Butland has been superb! Really like him in goals and he has excelled as our #1. Havent missed Begovic at all

After 9th place in both the last two campaigns we are looking to improve again so hopefully that rise will continue after our slow start.

Dark Horse for a top 5 finish I guess.
Looking at the ladder at the moment, my feeling is that the two Manchesters, Arsenal and West Ham are the most likely top 5 candidates. That leaves one spot open, which I am thinking might be filled by Tottenham as time progresses. But Stoke were placed 18th and one point off bottom three rounds ago and now sit 11th with 12 points and three points behind Crystal Palace who are 6th. Admittedly they have only beaten Bournemouth, Villa and Swansea but it's about taking your chances when you get them. West Ham for example have knocked over a few heavy weights so far this year in Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool, and knocked Crystal Palace out of fourth position on the weekend, all away games, yet they have failed to win against lower ranked opponents like Sunderland, Norwich and Bournemouth.
I've never followed a season of Premier league as closely as I have this year, so I might be a little naïve in some of my assessments, but my SANFL predictions tend to be a bit crap too and I've followed that all my life.
Could you give me a prediction on how Stoke will do from here Hounds? I know there's not much to go on, so it's only a possibility, but I'll say Dark horse for a top 5 finish.

hahahaha mate. Im as one eyed West Ham man as there is.

But you really need to keep a lid on it this early in the season. Locking us in for a top 5 finish haha.

Only 1/4 the way through the league. Sooooo much time for us to pull a west ham and have this campaign go completely tits up.

Fair enough Jakova, you've had a bit closer West Ham experience than I, so I'll try to keep a lid on it and just crap on about how the other teams might go.
Until say about round 18. 1/2 way through the season, surely we could have a little stab at how well we think we'll end up about then.

Its around this time of the season - end of october early november where it really starts to count. Around this time shows the depth of the stronger clubs that can miss a few players through injury and still compete.

round 10 onwards is where it means something. And more so over christmas / new years week they play like 4 games over that period which can make or break a season

Look, don't get me wrong. I'm full of hope and optimism for this season. Payet could be the best player I've seen play for us and Lanzini isn't far behind tbh. And we have more depth this year than ever etc etc.

But.... We are still west ham. So if there's a way for this to all go wrong and us finish 12th.
Then you know we will find it.
