Until say about round 18. 1/2 way through the season, surely we could have a little stab at how well we think we'll end up about then.

Look, don't get me wrong. I'm full of hope and optimism for this season. Payet could be the best player I've seen play for us and Lanzini isn't far behind tbh. And we have more depth this year than ever etc etc.

But.... We are still west ham. So if there's a way for this to all go wrong and us finish 12th.
Then you know we will find it.

Tend to agree.

But for the first time in my 32 years of supporting West Ham we finally have some serious depth especially once the likes of Valencia, Song and Reid are back fit.

Apparently Valencia scored for the development squad today.

Dark horse maybe?

Dark horse for what? You havin a laugh

Dark Horse for a top 5 finish I guess.
Looking at the ladder at the moment, my feeling is that the two Manchesters, Arsenal and West Ham are the most likely top 5 candidates. That leaves one spot open, which I am thinking might be filled by Tottenham as time progresses. But Stoke were placed 18th and one point off bottom three rounds ago and now sit 11th with 12 points and three points behind Crystal Palace who are 6th. Admittedly they have only beaten Bournemouth, Villa and Swansea but it's about taking your chances when you get them. West Ham for example have knocked over a few heavy weights so far this year in Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool, and knocked Crystal Palace out of fourth position on the weekend, all away games, yet they have failed to win against lower ranked opponents like Sunderland, Norwich and Bournemouth.
I've never followed a season of Premier league as closely as I have this year, so I might be a little naïve in some of my assessments, but my SANFL predictions tend to be a bit crap too and I've followed that all my life.
Could you give me a prediction on how Stoke will do from here Hounds? I know there's not much to go on, so it's only a possibility, but I'll say Dark horse for a top 5 finish.

League Table Round 9

Man C +16 23
Arsenal +9 19
Man U +7 19
West Ham +8 17
Leicester +2 16
Crystal Palace +2 15
Spurs +4 14
Southampton +3 13
Everton +1 13
Liverpool -2 13

Stoke -1 12
Chelsea -3 11
West Brom -4 11
Swansea -1 10
Watford -4 10
Norwich -6 9
Bournemouth -6 8
Newcastle -7 6
Aston Villa -7 4
Sunderland -11 3

Game of the round has to be the two Manchesters, 3rd v 1st, going head to head on Sunday.
Leicester v Crystal Palace; 5th v 6th.
Arsenal v Everton; 2nd v 9th.
Liverpool v Southampton; 8th v 10th
Stoke v Watford; 11th v 15th, will be interesting to see if Stoke can string 4 in a row. A good chance considering the relative positions of the two sides.
West Ham v Chelsea; 4th v 12th. West Ham with a pretty poor home record this year, vs Chelsea who haven't performed to expectations so far.

Looking forward to this round.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

No idea what they're complaining about. The two yellows for Matic were clear as day.

Hopefully we can hold from here. Lanzini should have put the game to bed from an outrageous Payet flick on.
