and before you ask

DONOVAN COMPLETES EVERTON SWITCH

Everton have confirmed the signing of United States striker Landon Donovan on a short-term loan deal.

Donovan will join the Merseyside club in the January transfer window having been granted permission by Los Angeles Galaxy.

The 27-year-old will increase manager David Moyes' selection options during a season which has seen the Merseysiders hampered by injuries throughout the season.

He may be at Goodison Park for as little as 10 weeks before returning to the USA but Moyes feels that could be enough to give his side a lift.

Moyes said: "He will bring me some experience, some pace and he is a good finisher. He gives me another body, which we needed, and I think we need to add another two or three in January. American boys in the main tend to come over here and do well. He was voted the best player in MLS, so I think he can bring some qualities we can use. He is relatively experienced and I need these players to come in and hit the ground running, not need a month or two to get ready."

Donovan failed to make an impact in previous spells with German clubs Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich but Moyes expects him to respond well to the challenge of playing in the Barclays Premier League.

VIEIRA COMPLETES CITY SWITCH
Manchester City have completed the signing of midfielder Patrick Vieira from Inter Milan.
France international Vieira, who becomes new Blues boss Roberto Mancini's first signing, has signed a six-month deal at Eastlands with an option for a further year.
The 33-year-old's deal at Inter was due to expire in the summer and the former AC Milan and Arsenal schemer was keen to secure first-team football to work his way into the France squad ahead of the World Cup finals.

LATICS SWOOP FOR STOJKOVIC
Wigan have completed the loan signing of Serbia international Vladimir Stojkovic after the goalkeeper received his work permit.
The 26-year-old has joined the Latics from Sporting Lisbon until the end of the season and will go straight into the squad to face Aston Villa on Saturday.

RAMS SEAL HUNT LOAN DEAL
Derby boss Nigel Clough has signed defender Nicky Hunt on a month-long loan deal from Bolton.
The right-back, who has found himself out of favour with the Premier League side of late, is expected to go straight into the Rams' squad for Saturday's visit of Scun.thorpe.

DOSSENA COMPLETES NAPOLI SWITCH
Napoli have confirmed the signing of defender Andrea Dossena from Liverpool on a four-year deal.
The Italy international has long been linked with a return to his homeland, with Napoli narrowly missing out on a deal in the summer.
Reports suggest the Partenopei have paid Liverpool around five million euros for Dossena.

Bt meh really mate. Not playing for the French national team and hardly setting the world alight in Italy.

Having said that, I'd gladly have had him at WHL

Geez you will take anyone at WHL.. Viera... Joe Cole?? Seriously.

I think Viera will be shown up in the EPL personally. The league is too quick for him.

BIRMINGHAM CLINCH MICHEL DEAL
Birmingham have completed the £3million signing of midfielder Michel from Sporting Gijon.

The 24-year-old moves to St Andrew, penning a two-and-a-half-year deal, after making 138 appearances and scoring seven goals for Gijon since making his first-team debut during the 2005-06 season.

VAN HEERDEN LEAVES ROVERS
South Africa midfielder Elrio van Heerden has left Blackburn for Turkish club Sivasspor on a free transfer after just six months at Ewood Park.

CAICEDO OFF TO MALAGA
Manchester City have confirmed that striker Felipe Caicedo has joined Spanish side Malaga on loan.
Out of favour at Eastlands under Mark Hughes, it appears the Ecuadorian is not part of Roberto Mancini's plans either.
