I reckon this is a VERY hard question.
Here are my nominees.
Carlo Ancelotti - First season in the EPL and all but won the double.
Sir ALex - Has run the title race to the final day despite losing Cristiano and TEvez
Arry Redknapp - Broke into the TOP 4 in front of Man City and Liverpool.
Roy Hodgson - Mid table for Fulham but a Europa fairytale beckons, plus who could hate ROY ??????????
Anccelotti? pftt, I could have won the title managing Chelsea with the cattle and resources theyh have. I'd have Judas higher placed
Fergie, another pftt. Losing Ronaldo was a blessing so no loss there. He wasn't interested in playing for Man U ever since the European champoinships. As for Tevez, he was rarely used other than sub and left for 1st team football so in the scheme of things, hardly two great losses. Again, I could have managed Utd to 2nd place.
Redknapp, has done a pretty good job to take a CL spot this year considering where the club was when he joined. He did have a few $$$ to spend and managed to rape Pompey in the process, but definitely would have him ahead of Fergie or Ancelotti.
Hodgdon has done another solid job with Fulham. They have sacrificed the league to some extent, in pusuit of the Europa dream. I guess McCarthy would be asking the FA a few questions by now about fielding your strongest league side. Hodgsons considerable experience on the continent has stood him in good stead and would be my 3rd choice.
Personally, I would opt for McLeish at Birmingham. Fantastic effort to lead them to thier highest ever EPL finish. Many would have tipped them for an immediate return to the CCC but he has got a team that won't lay down, solid at the back and the ability to grind out the 1 - 0 results.
My 2nd choice would go to Avram Grant. at Pompey. Despite players not getting paid and the off field turmoil surrounding the club, he has kept them going to the end finally getting them to the FA Cup final. Personally I think this is a greater achievement than Fulham reaching the Europa cup final, given the circumstances
